Just got back from a screening, well, it's another good addition to the franchise. However, if you're going in expecting an action packed sequel, you won't find it here, it suffers from being Part 1 of one book, if covered basically the whole slow half of Mockingjay, which made it a hard read to be honest. But, the movie delivers where I found the book failed, gave us a better look at the propaganda war between District 13 and the Capitol. The acting was great, it delivered a great bit of humor at the perfect moments, and it was definitely a tense film, but the tension never lets up because all of this anger and fury and emotions never gets let out, the ending was a bit angering because you have no closure, you know it's only half the story. That's the films biggest flaw, only being half the story, but I can be almost sure Part 2 will be the greatest film of the series.

7.7/10.

All in all, it was a good departure from this action, adrenaline filled franchise it had been, it's basically a longer version of what the first half of the first movie was, except with a lot of more interesting politics. The few action scenes in the movie are okay, but you know you want so much more. Acting is good, as well as visuals, but the ending wasn't all that great. Another year until we get the final goodies.

Is it worth seeing in theatres? If the ending is unsatisfactory (albeit for obvious reasons), I'd sooner watch it at home a day or so before Part 2 is released.

As a big fan of the books and movies, it was worth it for me. I was never bored, I just expected more
action by how they marketed the movie. Unfortunately those few action scenes in the trailers and TV spots you have all saw are about all that's in this movie, action-wise. If you're someone who isn't much into a movie with a lot of story and interesting topics being discussed then no it's not, (not that I'm saying you're a Michael Bay junkie or anything), then maybe you should catch it at home
when it's released. The ending was a bit annoying, but I expected it going into this. I think you'll enjoy it, I think people were just so used to these Hunger Game battles that when they got a movie without them they probably felt a bit let down. Which is understandable, but it's still a really good movie.

Its just a horrific exercise in milking money, I think this movie has really brought that home now and people are realising.

I saw this on Friday. I really enjoyed the books - unfortunately I can't remember the last book in too much detail, other than getting fedup with the love triangle aspect of it - but I disliked the first film (hated how it pulled its punches) but thoroughly enjoyed the second film. And I really enjoyed this one too.

Yeah, not much happened in terms of action, but it was such an intense and emotionally charged film. I think J-Law is simply fantastic. Her song was wonderful, I thought. And Josh Hutcherson as well - despite his lack of screen time. They both bring some very heavy emotional weight to the film.

It's just a shame it ended where it did. It felt like no time had passed and I could have sat through more. But, of course, I understand why they did it - not to be money grabber - but to give everything the time it needed. I look forward to the next one.

'Hunger Games' Prequel Novel Coming in 2020

Prequel novel coming next year, followed by a movie.

QuoteIn a recent statement to the Associated Press, the chairman of the Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, Joe Drake, said, "As the proud home of the 'Hunger Games' movies, we can hardly wait for Suzanne's next book to be published. We've been communicating with her during the writing process and we look forward to continuing to work closely with her on the movie."

Walked to a random movie theatre across from the hotel I was staying at and bought a random movie ticket. I remember seeing the first 2 hunger games - not sure if I saw the 3rd. But this was a pretty good film! Had no idea they were making this and it was 3 hours long but honestly didn't feel like that.

Worth a watch if you want to see an entertaining movie in my opinion. I think I'll rewatch the movies to see what the references were.

People that follow the franchise or books, how did it hold up in your opinions?
