Interesting thread. I would like to see an extended edit. I like this film almost as much as the original.

The first two Predator films are such wonderful companion films. I've never seen a contrast so unique in a film and its first sequel ultimately work so well together.

Which is why I find the other films so expendable.

I get that, unfortunately.

It's too bad that Predators (which I still like) didn't stand on its own two feet more. The whole hunting preserve planet is such a cool concept. But as Stitch so eloquently put it, Predators is less than a remake, but more than a homage, and its retreading prevents it from being anywhere near as individual as the first two films.

Well said. It's not BAD but it's still not on the same tier as the original two.
