QuoteScott also revealed he's developing a new Alien movie for 20th in the wake of Romulus' success

So, the realistic part of my brain is telling me that this is the Alien: Romulus sequel that Steve Asbell just confirmed, which Scott would presumably still be an active producer on.

But also.... I want to believe that he has it in him to direct one more....

Please Ridley, complete the trilogy.  🙏

The Cruentus

I agree he should get to finish what he started. Complete the "prequel" trilogy and then move on. Further new Alien movie/other media entries can then ignore the prequels and erase them and the black goo nonsense from the continuity.

Nightmare Asylum

I really don't think the prequel movies are going anywhere, on the film side of things. Earth probably won't explicitly mention them (and who knows, might overwrite them), but the prequels are totally baked into the future of the film franchise at this point. Romulus is contingent upon their existence, and we know now that a Romulus sequel (which is almost certainly the movie that Ridley is referenced as developing here) is coming, and that Fede has even entertained the thought of folding David into where Rain's story goes next...

TheBATMAN

I imagine he's referring to the Romulus sequel. It wouldn't surprise me if Alien Destiny is re-written to accommodate Rain and Andy. It would be sad not to get a resolution to David's story. And if they did go down this route, given the timeline, it would mean David cannot be the space jockey.

He can still sneak onto the Sulaco and put the Egg in there, though. :)

God that wouldn't actually surprise me...

I really appreciate Alien sequels with the Scott Free house style, so this news is encouraging to me. All the better if Ridley is creatively involved and gets to incorporate a conclusion to his prequel narrative.

I'm so confused. But he does have some of the highest grossing alien movies

David Weyland

I think Romulus proved and reinforced the idea that Synthetics can upload into each other.
I've always reasoned David uploaded into Walter rather than just mimicking his look.
So there is possibility to be ubiquitous or David has the Skelton keys at least to the Muthr mainframe.
Therefore think it's possible then David could be the space jockey (or a synthetic under his influence) but his consciousness is living on

If David could just upload into Walter then why copy his look and 'kill' him earlier? He could have stayed blonde and uploaded himself then.

David Weyland

I reason that he definitely had strategic & nefarious intentions by cutting his hair but that at that point in the story he was trying to identify and or tempt his 'Brother' Walter, up to & even after he was directly confronted about what he's up to & told he couldn't leave with them.

RoguePred1987

this is one of three things; he's helping to develop the Romulus sequel, he's developing something separate from the Romulus sequel, or both.

After Romulus I'm fine with Scott finishing his trilogy and giving it one more shot, but for god sakes do NOT put David in that chair!
