Quote from: SM on Sep 24, 2024, 12:01:47 PMStarted with 2. I think he might find the first one a bit slow. And the scene in the town that ended with the rapes might be a tad OTT. Skipped the rape in 2 as well.
Yeah I'm not surprised you skipped the og

"Must have cut his heart out eh?"
"NIGHTRIDER!!!"

But yes, some rather `nasty' elements especially in that first one.

There's this overall feeling of menace right throughout the first film. Even when the bikies aren't on screen, you always get the feeling that some bad is about to happen any second.

Popeye (1980)

It's very well cast and has some funny bits here and there, but most of it is just meandering and boring.

American werewolf in London. Great movie. Love the wolf going nuts at end

Alien: Resurrection.

Hands down one of the greatest monster movies ever made.

But, Christie fires 2 grenades during the ambush sequence and that causes 11 onscreen explosions.

Makes no sense.

Second best werewolf film is Dog Soldiers.

Don't argue with me, just acknowledge and accept.

"I'm not breaking radio silence because you lot were startled by a dead flying f**king cow!"

"What happened? We was attacked! By huge f**king howling things, that's what!"

"Bone. Bollocks. Naff."
"Not very good."

"Even if we only get some of them, it's a shitload better than none of them, and a marked improvement on all of us."

"Maybe it's like needing a piss, I dunno. When you gotta go, you gotta f**king go."
"Well maybe it's more like needing a shite. Just because you need one, doesn't mean you drop your kegs and pinch one off."

"I hope I give you the shits, you f**king wimp!"

"I'M IN THE KHAZI!"

So many great lines

I'd actually say Dog Soldiers is the best werewolf film, but whatevs.

"What about you coop, what scares you?"
"Spiders and women. And eh...spider-women."

"What use are you to me if you can't shoot a sodding dog?"
"Didn't say I couldn't shoot a dog sir, just said i will not shoot that dog for no reason."

"We are now up against live hostile targets. So, if little red riding hood should turn up with a bazooka and bad attitude, I expect you to chin the bitch."

My absolute favourite thing about Dog Soldiers is that it's somehow hands-down the most accurate on-screen depiction of British squaddies I've ever seen.

Megalopolis

A complete mess, but at least it's not boring.

Killer Heat on Prime. Nice little adaptation of Nesbo's `The Jealously Man' according to my wife (who reads a lot of his books). She was laughing at how bad some of the Greek pronunciation was though.

Clooney and Pitt elevate this simple film with their charm and wit. Fun little `fixer' film.
