What a great time to be a fan of these franchises. I'm so excited for both of these but I've always been more of a Predator fan so I've got to pick Badlands.

Prey and Killer of Killers were fantastic. Besides some minor nitpicks of the aforementioned films I love what Dan and team have done to reinvigorate the predator franchise. Predator badlands could really be something special if handled correctly. We've never seen a predator as the protagonist.

We've got multiple "xenomorphs" in Alien earth which I find refreshing. As far as character development I'm curious if Alien Earth is going to lean into more of a Blade Runner theme. With transferring consciousness of a human into a synthetic and other kinds of hybrids it really asks the question what it means to be human and alive. I hope they explore this theme.

Regardless, both of these releases are going to expand the lore in ways we've only seen in the EU. I'm really excited to see where things go.

What are your thoughts?

Badlands. I'm more of an Alien fan so I feel a lot more apprehension towards Alien Earth goofing with the bees too much while I'm open to whatever craziness Badlands might bring.

Local Trouble

They both have ugly heads.

Badlands, definitely. End result we may get a better AVP out of it.

As for Alien Earth, I'm not confident that Hawley knows what he is doing; among other things.

Neither if I'm honest. The direction they are going is not one that I want. I'm starting to not give a shit anymore. And the moment anything predator related turns up in an "Alien" film, I think that will be me done with it.

Badlands seems like an epic adventure.

Earth has kids' consciousness go into soldier cyborgs. Seems like Power Rangers to me.... although I did enjoy the trailer.

Badlands for me. But hopefully Earth surprises.

I'm a pessimist by nature, and I can't be disappointed with anything if I don't get hyped to begin with.

That being said, I'm more excited for Badlands. My expectations are so low I'm drilling for oil, but after Killer of Killers not being a total disaster, I can assume that a good Predator film can still be done. It looks like it'll be riding on the coattails of Alien again (Predator really needs some good standalone world building), but it looks like fun. I'm expecting a good popcorn flick.

After the financial success of Romulus, I don't have much hope for the future of Alien. I'm expecting a reversal of the excellent world building of the RPG, and the jettisoning of the prequels in favour of doing Alien and Aliens again and again. I hope I'm wrong.

Whatever you say about Noah Hawley, he will not be repeating what other people have done.

Not overly eager for either of these. But I'm not interested in Dan's vision for the Predator franchise. So it looks like Alien Earth is the one.

Wweyland

Badlands slightly more, but Earth has a lot more "content" to offer in its 8 episodes.

Dino21AvP

Badlands for me but definitely excited for Alien: Earth.

DARIAS93

I'm excited for both. No matter how they turn out, I'm just glad we're getting more Alien and Predator content.

That said, as a die-hard Alien fan, I've gotta side with Earth...

I'm more curious about Earth. I think it looks better than Badlands from what is available right now.

For Badlands I feel nothing.

I'm way more excited for Earth. I wasn't excited by anything of Predator since Predators back in 2010
