It would have truly solidified what Rommy really was though.

If we choose diplomatic language, ehm, it was a very expensive fan film and we should treat it as such. Enjoyable at times, with great atmosphere and visuals but a lot of faults and fails, not to mention the atrocitous and distasteful ending.

TheDerelict

The ship sailing off into the stars with everyone on board asleep may not be original, but atrocious and distasteful seems a bit extreme.

Of course I was referring to the hybrid monster and the way it killed its "mother".

Romulus has its problems, yeah, but everything involving the Offspring is one of the film's real highlights for me.

The Offspring took a full mark (maybe 2) off my score for the film. Whole cinema absolutely hated it...

I didn't care for it, but the audience I watched it with reacted well to the whole film. I heard audible gasps when you first see the Offspring in the doorway.

It felt too formulaic to me, I intrinsically knew some abomination would be born and blown out into space. I thought the design was far better than the Newborn thoigh.

Nightmare Asylum

My audience (especially on second viewing) had a pretty vocal reaction to the Offspring as well. So many gasps and folks lunching back in their seats.
