Quote from: Coolertonic7 on May 14, 2025, 08:43:31 PMA funny thing I found out about the thermal cameras they used in the movie, is that they were so sensitive to heat that we almost got a game of thrones situation, because they could spot coffee cups behind the walls of the set!
I hated that they changed the Yautja's heat vision to be "Updated" in Anderson's words.

I don't like it too, but the reason it looks different is because of the type of thermal camera that was used!

Yes, Anderson wanted an updated thermal camera rather than maintain continuity because he has OCD on visuals

It was also because the camera was smaller, since the camera that was used in Predator was massive!

SiL

And incredibly low resolution.

I might listen to the AVPR commentary track tomorrow, to maybe learn interesting informations about it!

Oh I need to do that since I still have AVPR, the movie might not have been the best Alien or Predator movie of all time but I do like some of its concepts. Predalien young queen/praetorian and Yautja cleanup specialist Wolf

Local Trouble

Everyone loves Wolf.  He's just the coolest.  And so competent.

He's so experienced that he as a status effect that turns every xenomorphs in the radius of a small town around him into complete idiots!

SM

Faultless really.

Local Trouble

I like that he's laser-focused on his mission and never gets distracted.

Coolertonic7

And when he kills witnesses, he does it in a way that isn't suspicious!

SM

Destroys the evidence and doesn't leave the anything for anyone to find.

Xenotaris

Hahahaha... Yeah Wolf was stupidly OP but still pretty cool, kind of like Broly

I might rematch the AVP and AVPR commentary tracks, since there are two of them for each movies!

One with the directors and the other with Alec Gillis and Tom Woodruff Jr.!

I do feel bad for the special effects commentary track of AVPR, since it must be hard to talk about the effects when they are in pitch black darkness!
