I think out of the original four films, Aliens would be the only one considered fast paced. Unlike modern films, though, it was done well. We cared about the characters and all of the action sequences were perfectly built up.

Id disagree. Resurrection would be the answer. Aliens is very unusual for action movie, it had a very slow and long buildup like the original. Once poop hits the fan in the hive, its again a long time before action picks up again, while Resurrection is structured as an average scifi action flick

I agree Resurrection has a faster pace. It's even messy sometimes.

Resurrection flits from scene to scene a little too quickly; it could actually benefit from being a bit slower.

Resurrection in general needed to be put back in the oven

Alien 3 has the lowest rewatch count for me these days.

There was a time it was tied for first with the original, but now it's a clear 1-2-4-3 distribution.

No, I don't think Res is better. Yes, it's a hell of a lot more watchable. No, I do not think the Legacy cut will change that in the least.

I forgot to mention Rez but I agree it's highly rewatchable too, probably second for me these days.

Most of the films require a certain mood to sit down and watch, but Res is pure popcorn entertainment.

.. is anyone familiar with the documentary "Room 237"? It's about theories and deeper meanings considering S.Kubrik's "The Shining". One of these theories is, watching the movie at the same time forward and reward by a projector. Is there any possibility to do that with your home equipment of TV/BR-player/.. ?

If I do reach Alien 3 and not switch over to the old dark horse comics, that's where I typically stop from the main ALIEN timeline. Alien Resurrection doesn't exist in my head's timeline.
