I prefer BBW myself, but the CMOM's political espionage angle is great as well. I think what endears BBW to me personally is the whole "into the unknown" ethos that (to me anyway) is one of the franchise's greatest strengths.

Plus, the Xenomorphs still figure strongly into the story, especially during the final mission. Moreover, BBW has a good balance between featuring the Alien and other creatures like the Protomorphs and the Fulfremmen. It would be nice to see that balance serviced in future novels and media.
