This is actually a good example of efficiency. Getting the job done with as little input as possible, cheaping out on the crew's safety in this case, is efficient.
However it is not very ethical... lol

These concepts are clearly a variation of the January teaser.

Looks like it was more of a still angle showing an adult Alien running in front of the porthole, instead of the wild traveling with barely distinct creature(s) in the final product.

But the main idea is the same: creature(s) pass(es) over the porthole quickly, the porthole shows Earth, full visual shortcut to make us understand that yeah, this time it's about Earth.
