Your work never ceases to impress. Very much looking forward experiencing Covenant and revisiting Prometheus with this. We'd love to livestream it whenever it's ready.

After much frustration with the Isle of Skye level I have decided to rebuild it from scratch with a better layout and new improvements.

Here's some video for everyone to peek at, Thanks.

Even though I've only been working on this for about four to five months now, the difference is that
I've been working on it 18 hours a day Everyday for the last four to five months.( I put UE5 aside for now) Before hand the Isle of Skye
Level was kind of Lame, it is now one of my favorites. I'll just let the work speak for itself.
So far I have
not shown anything of note, why you ask, because then there wouldn't be any surprises. The project is turning out better than I thought it would.
Yet I still do have the limitations of idTech 4 to contend with. That being said...It is a much better experience overall.

Initially I didn't think adding Alien covenant would be a big deal, yet there is more to it than one might think.
It's taking time to build, make and test. And then comes the Other parts as well.
Sound, animations, textures, gameplay, weapons, enemies, levels, guis, scripting...etc. and Testing, Testing and more Testing. :P
Good thing I test all of it as I found a few things that I would not have found otherwise.
Yet another set of eyes would be welcomed. Under strict conditions of course.

If I rushed this out the door, it would suck. So I'm making an effort for this to be the monsterpiece it was meant to be.
and then some. But only to a certain point. I still have a ways to go as this is an Enormous project to begin with. And I'm only one person,
Fortunately I had it's foundation in place, (mostly) and was able to build from that and improve it.
And that needed major fixing as well. (more work).

The Initial Prometheus Doom 3 Mod took 11 months to make and that was 18 hours a day everyday also.
I had almost gotten kicked out of the house (Living at my parents home at the time)... this was 12 years ago, so that doesn't matter now.
because I worked on it so much and wasn't looking for a wage slave job, It almost never made it out the door and gotten released.
I had an Unsupportive family. So making this was difficult under those circumstances of that time,
I felt and always have felt that if you do what you love doing that's all that should matter, no matter what anyone says or does.

This project has takin on a new life and I look forward to sharing this with everyone interested when it's finished.

Happiest Cheers!

Thanks Everyone! J

The way blood is rendered in the ID Tech 4 has always been one of my favorite things. While dated by today's standards, there is a grotesque artistry to it that has not been seen since. Your recreation of the shower scene displays that perfectly.

On another note, I really like that you seemingly chose to reuse your old model from the Event Horizon mod for the Covenant ship. That is a great way to bring that back. I am eagerly looking forward to seeing what else you do.

Thanks, but I have to correct you on that, I built and textured the covenant ship from scratch. All New. :)

Hi Everyone, I'd like to just chime in and let everyone know that everything is progressing nicely
and I have been making steady progress on completing this project. I'll post more later when I feel comfortable
on revealing more. I will say that I have all the levels all layed out and mostly all built, yet it still all needs
testing and some more polishing. The Final Level I find most interesting, as with all the new stuff I have added.
Forget what you remember with the old mod, all that has changed. and for the better I sincerely hope.

Since adding Alien Covenant into the mix, there is just so much more than before. I could ramble on and on.
I just wanted to let everyone know that it's getting there and I can't wait to see and hear all the reactions and feedback and comments,
from this project with all the changes and additions made. Thank You Everyone for your interest and patience.

I see no Reason not to post the README for this so here's an excerpt.
While I'm still working on this project, There are still a few areas I'm not happy with, but we'll see.
It is However getting there. Most of you will see this for the first time and I'd like it to be a
Good one, for me it will be 300 times and is starting to wear me out. So Please Hang in there a bit longer and when it is finished you will see what it took to be what it is. Thanks Everyone. More Later.

Here's the README: For the Prometheus Covenant D3 Game Remaster.

**************************************************************

*Unofficial Fan made  Prometheus Covenant Movie Game

Prometheus Remastered Standalone idTech4 Project
Originally a DOOM 3 Fan Made Modification.

**************************************************************
Developer Notes:
**************************************************************

Hello Everyone, and Welcome to The Prometheus Remastered Standalone idTech4 Project.
First I'd like to thank everyone Interested and those that have played the first Prometheus doom3 mod.
Along with Event Horizon D3 and Blade Yautja D3, Phantasm D3.
This project was very difficult to make as there are many timing setups that have to follow
a set dialog and tell a story. The overall game recreates the Movie Prometheus with all
the cut deleted scenes added and some additional parts added as well.
Most of the game is Cinematic in nature because of the story that it represents.
However in the Remastered version more action has been added along with many new elements.
Even with the Limitations of the doom 3 engine, I can only do so much.

One of the main reasons for the Remaster is that many have played the first version and some have had trouble
getting it to work and play it. So I have decided to fix all that and make a better version with new additions.

There are some new levels not related to the movie that provides some action to keep things
exciting and on your toes. There are new animations, weapons and other features added like
Iron Sights to some weapons as well as auto and single firing modes. These elements will
be seen as you progress along in the game.

With this package Doom 3 is NOT required and my installation instructions must be followed
Explicitly to the letter so that everything works like it's supposed to. (Please and Thank You?)

I have arranged all the files in a certain way so that it works as is. It's complicated so don't ask why there are folders open.
and not in .pk4 files...mainly if you have to know, it's because the game would stop working otherwise and not run at all.

###############################################################################################
* IF you wish to modify it or make any changes I STRONGLY suggest and recommend you do so
on a copy of the game and keep my initial setup intact.
#################################################################################################

Seriously I've pulled out a lot of hair getting everything to work as it should.
It's not perfect, but nothing ever is, but for what it is, it's still an improvement over the original version.
I hope you can still enjoy it for what is. A Doom 3 Mod Adventure of Prometheus and Alien Covenant. and then some.

Ok moving on...

***************************************************************************************

*INSTALLATION PROCEDURE: EXTRACT AND PLAY INSTRUCTIONS

***************************************************************************************

The .zip file has been setup with separate elements but simple enough to get started.
I'm using 7zip for the commpression in that it offers better compression from other programs.

First Extract or (unzip) the Prometheus_SA_D3 Folder to your C: drive, yes you heard
me correctly the C: drive. Why? ***Because I have the Desktop shortcut setup with parameters
to ensure you have Fullscreen on startup. Then take the desktop shortcut provided and drag and
drop that to your desktop.  and then you can start the game using that.

******The DESKTOP SHORTCUT is in the Extras folder...

*Important: The configuration I have setup is to ensure you have clear crisp textures and widescreen on startup.
so seriously don't go changing anything, except on a copy of the game.

Important:_______________________________________________________________________________________________

*IF you wish to use another drive you will have to edit the desktop shortcut to direct to that drive.
_______________________________________________________________________________________________

But for simplistic sake, This method works best using the C: drive especially for editing.

******************************************************************************************

So let's recap...Prometheus_SA_D3 Folder extracted to C: drive, and the desktop shortcut extracted
to your desktop.(Drag and Drop)  That's it.             C:/Prometheus_SA_D3 (default setup). + desktop shortcut.

*******************************************************************************************
Good so far? Great, then you can start the game with the desktop shortcut and prepare for a new adventure.

That's it for installation. Short sweet and simple. Thanks everyone, Enjoy!
I look forward to your comments and suggestions and Thank you all for your patience and interest.

***********************************************************************************************

While testing I realized that my system is above most systems and runs very smoothly, (rec specs)
however for lower end systems maybe not so much. So here are the specs for the game.

 Min. Specs:
 windows 10/11
 i5 / i7 intel processor
 nvidia geforce 965  or higher
 16gb system memory
4.5 gb hd disk space      (solid state drive recommended)

 Recommended specs:
 windows 11
 i7/i9 intel processor
 nvidia RTX 4060     or higher
 32 gb system memory
4.5 gb Solid State Drive  disk space available

I have tested this on a much lower spec system even though it will run, it will however run very very poorly.
I strongly recommend a Beefy Gaming System to run this.
ATI cards may work, I make no guarentees or promises on ryzen systems, MACS or linux.

bladeghost

Brief Update: I have Play Tested the whole project from start to finish in about seven hours.
on my 965 GeForce with 16gb memory system and it ran well after optimizing a few levels.
Too many lights with shadows enabled caused a 10fps slideshow, and I can't have that.

However there are still a few areas that still need some more work done.
It's Important that I fix these
as it will make a difference to the project. Meaning that It's almost there but just not yet.
So far I have managed to cut the download size to about 3.67GB and may be using winrar for compression
instead of 7zip as winrar doesn't seem to like 7zip when unpacking the project.

Keep in mind this project is very complicated and very large in scope. So Please Hang in there.
And Thanks for being patient as progress is being made each and everyday. I look forward to unleashing
this monster and to inspire all those that get to experience this project when it's finished and ready.
Thanks to Everyone Interested. J
