Eiza González & Aaron Paul To Star In Flying Lotus's Sci-Fi 'Ash'; "We 'Bout To Kill This", Says Director Ahead Of Filming

QuoteEXCLUSIVE: Eiza González (Baby Driver) and Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad) are attached to star in sci-fi thriller Ash, the sophomore feature from producer, rapper and filmmaker Flying Lotus (Kuso).

Paul and González will replace Tessa Thompson and Joseph Gordon-Levitt who were previously announced last summer.

Gonzalez will play a woman who wakes up on a distant planet and finds the crew of her space station viciously killed. She must decide whether she can trust the man (Paul) sent to rescue her.

It's got a bit of a "The Thing" vibe going on.

I'd watch it strictly because of Eiza Gonzalez.

This was both artsy and campy/cheesy high cosmic horror in the best of ways. Loved every bit of it. A lean, mean, and gorgeously polished B movie that truly delivers on creatures, body horror, intrigue, and audiovisual immersion.

Japanese med bot stole every scene it was in; final monster vs final girl was a gloriously grotesque payoff

and the closest thing to a live action Dead Space that we'll likely ever get.

Nothing groundbreaking here of course, and the script is passable but pulpy enough to let the extreme psychedelia and brutality take center stage for a very engaging 95min on the big screen.
