My headcanon is that the earth-alien war is the point of divergence separating the resurrection timeline and the dark horse timeline

There is a hint in fire and stone that engineer tech is capable of time travel

What if the Mala'kak machinations led to the infestation of earth before he was eventually killed in the events of the comic known as "the alien"

His death and the destruction of his ship erasing all evidence of him being a time traveler

The RPG timeline and the dark horse timeline can be the same timeline to a point

Pretty sure time travel would just make sure that the franchise could never be taken seriously again. Some things should just not be included. It should be kept more or less simple like Alien.
