So I'm thinking of reading Infernos Fall, Seventh Circle and Bishop.

I've read a lot of bad reviews about Infernos Fall and Seventh Circle, but I also read a lot of bad reviews about Colony War and Rift War, and I loved both of those!

And on the flip side, I read a lot of amazing reviews about Phalanx and Into Charybdis but ended up hating them. There were hardly and xenos in either of them, and when they eventually turned up they mostly just got their asses kicked.

Basically I just want novels that
- Don't portray the xenos as cannon fodder
- Don't have neomorphs or any of that other Prometheus crap

I was a bit put off reading Infernos Fall as it looks like there is a neomorph on the cover

Still Collating...

Inferno's Fall has Neomorphs and black goo and then very xeno like non actual xenos
Spoiler
that aren't the result of normal eggs, but just from the black goo.

If you care about the established sensical xeno lifecycle, that can be a big turnoff. And there is a ton of prequel Prometheus stuff in Inferno's Fall, as well as Seventh Circle.

Seventh Circle has very little xenos in the book and when they're there, they're dealt with relatively easily. They are the side character, the B plot in their own novel. And it has a lot of returning elements from Into Charybdis.

Bishop might be the book for you then. It has no prequel Prometheus elements in it whatsoever. Aliens have a much more meaningful presence in the book, and they aren't easily trampled over at all. They have a number of great scenes. Bishop has been my favorite book in recent years.

Thank you! I will go for Bishop and avoid the other two then in that case :)
