It's what that types of stories are for, to collide two vastly different worlds with everything special they both have to offer. So I don't have a problem when supervillain (called MISTER SINISTER, for Christ's sake) has guns that shoot facehuggers. It's so wild that it becomes cool. And a little bit terryfying, come to think of it. But despite that kind od wacky superhero stuff, this comic has some moody, pesymystic atmosphere and shows Alien infestation as proper, world-ending threat. And I love how Hickman is playing with both Alien and Marvel lore. Only thing that I don't enjoy in this crossover is constantly pushed back release dates. Wonder what's going on with this?

I understand the complaint. I know it's a crossover, but I'd been finding the tone of the overrun to be quite on the serious side so far, so the facehugger gun does feel a little out of place within the series. Mr Sinister isn't a character I'm too knowledgeable about either, so I admit to finding it a little jarring.

So I took a chance on this one after @Corporal Hicks stating he liked what he read so far.

First off I am not a Marvel guy - I'll be blunt in saying that - I wouldn't say I'm a DC guy but my preference for Batman and Superman probably means I sort of am.

That said the first 3 issues have been very good. The artwork is outstanding and FINALLY the colouring is spot on in tone and colour palette wise (something I've bitched about a lot previously regarding Marvel's tendency for hypercolour palettes). The story has been also very good - deadly serious!

Really looking forward to reading issue 4.

Given that the DC crossovers are well in the past, this'll probably never happen, but Aliens vs Suicide Squad would be f**king brilliant. I'd be particularly interested in seeing how Weasel would handle the Xenos.

Is this sort of time between issues the norm at Marvel?  Brings back fond memories of the long wait between early Alien comics at Dark Horse.

None of the other Alien/Predator runs have had this space between releases as far as I remember. They've been pretty reliably monthly. They just seem to be giving AvA this space. Perhaps actually respecting an artist for once?

Read through all 4 issues for the first time and this was an epic f**kin crossover!

Spoiler
The Xenos were an absolute force to be reckoned with! Love that David 8 seeded the multiverse with Xeno infestations. This really felt like Aliens vs the entire Marvel universe as both mutants and superheroes were fighting for their lives with little success! Mister Sinister was great (literally cackled at the gun that shoots facehuggers lmao) and him manipulating the dna was right in line with the offspring from Rommy! And I really liked that Venom attaching to a Xeno was what saved the day but considering the multiverse is decimated it still ended on a dark note which is how I like my Alien stories to end.

All in all this was probably the best Alien crossover since Superman vs Aliens and the creative team did a great job of utilizing both franchises lore to make a really interesting and dark story.

Finished it on the weekend.  It did a pretty good job of portraying an apocalyptic event a la an Avengers movie, while still maintaining a level of bleak horror you often find in Alien stories where most of the characters are dead before the end.

One thing I didn't quite get
Spoiler
was the Venom/ Tony Stark thing.  They find Stark's dead body, then we see a flashback of Venom merging with him as he's dying, then he's alive with Spider-Man.  So what was he dead earlier or what? I'm sure I'm missing something.

Stark's body in issue three was something of a red herring... Yes, he did die but not for the reasons we initial thought.

Spoiler
The Facehugger which was on Miles Morales, which was bonded to by the Venom Symbiote, latched onto Stark's face as he was dying from the mortal wound that the one Xenomorph inflicted upon him. Stark is dead, but the Xenomorph which he birthed, is the Venomorph.

So you're not too far off the mark.
