QuoteNoah Hawley's long awaited Alien series will finally begin shooting this year.

"Noah is currently in production on the fifth season of Fargo but he's in active preproduction on Alien, he's written scripts," said FX Boss John Landgraf providing an update at TCA on the long-in-the-works series.

"I think he's meeting with his production designer in Austin this weekend, gearing up for production this year after he completes the fifth season of Fargo."

At last year's virtual TCA winter tour, Landgraf specified that Hawley's Alien, "takes place before Ripley. It's the first story that takes place in the Alien franchise on Earth."

"It takes place on our planet. Right near the end of this century we're in — so 70-odd years from now," added Landgraf then.

"Ripley won't be a part of it or any of the other characters of Alien other than the alien itself," the exec said.

Hawley's Alien series was first announced during the pandemic at the Disney Investor Day in December 2020.

The supposed 2023 release was something Landgraf said before production was delayed by a year, im assuming Collider is getting that from there.
Fargo 5 wraps in April, Production Weekly says this series starts filming mid-2023, so the summer.

I'll be surprised if we see anything this year from the show or film. Mayyyybe the first or so episode of the series it at all, but I'm expecting it all to hit in 2024.

Its about time we had some ALIEN news.
Not familiar with either of these gentleman but who knows?
Not the ALIEN5 movie i was hoping for but i remain skeptical even though Sir Sir Ridley Scott is involved.

Please no AI crap in the forefront of the script.

And for godamn sake.

No stupid robot creates  the ALIEN as the space jokey already made them centuries ago.

Local Trouble

Does he compose the music for all the dance numbers?

BlueMarsalis79

Generally, sometimes Noah Hawley even sings.

Jeff Russo > Mark Griskey?

BlueMarsalis79

Do you actually care or are you just fishing? I think Mark Griskey hasn't had the chance to stretch like Jeff Russo has, he only started getting royalties recently.

XENOMORPHOSIS

Is it likely well see the Fede Alverez Alien Romulus film on Hulu in mid 2024 and perhaps the Noah Hawley Alien TV series premier on Hulu later that year perhaps, Wonder if they'll be any cross promotion between the two projects? But it's very likely there to be separate and stand alone.

I always care.

In fact, I think Mark Griskey would be far better suited to score modern Star Wars than the other composers they've been hiring lately.
