So, it’s been two weeks after Comic-Con and I think everybody is understandably pissed off we’ve got no trailer. Well here’s some news to piss you off even more. We spoke to somebody at Fox and asked them what’s happening with it. First they told us, that they were hoping to have it out by the end of August. Now they’ve said the end of September… if we’re lucky.

Given the piss-poor marketing of AvP2, along with the dodgy release date, I’m concerned about how AvP2 will do when it’s released. I want a good movie, sure, but I’d like it to make money too. Otherwise no more sequels. So, barring a miracle, we’ll be waiting for the trailer for quite some time. Why do I have this feeling that the fans have been screwed over again?

I feel that not only the fans have been screwed over, but so, in some ways, have the directors. This is there debut feature film, and if it gets little success because of crap PR, like so far, I could only begin to imagine how they would feel.

I'd like to believe the term "no news, is good news" in this situation.

The film doesnt come out till early next year so why put out trailers (which were designed to go infront of other films not just for download on internet sites) this early?   If they put out a Dark Knight style teaser trailer or one like the first AVP teaser you'd all say it wasn't enough.   I think the best marketing decision is to put out a kickass trailer with some R rated horror/thriller type films and get the buzz around. Get the myspace up and going around Halloween and your laughing.

I disagree davebhamuk. Think about it. You want to create a little hype early. Even though AvP wasn't great, the marketing was perfect. A few glimpses of the creatures and the fans were as happy as hell.

OK, that's as ridiculous as it gets:  Not the trailer premiere 5 months before AVP2 premiere (see, I told you the premiere would be for early 2008...) but my beef is with the successive lies and deceit from everybody, including the directors, and especially the piss-poor PR and advertising job Fox has done so far...but don't worry, there is still time to top that, so stay tuned...  I have now very little hopes about this movie, especially because it does not seem in Fox's interest to please the 80% of the likely audience they will get for this: the hardcore Alien and Predator fans...  I mean, first no stills, then they pull out of Comic-Con at the last hour, then they delay for TWO months a trailer or trailers already done...?  I mean, are they or are they not confident about the movie they did..? Because it SURE AS HELL doesn't look like it...   >:(    Having said that, I think there is nothing we can do except wait and BEG for some kind of info or still that can put our endless doubts to rest, but given the fact that more and more studios are releasing promo material earlier (TDK as example), it is without a doubt troublesome that successive delays have been clouding this movie, alreday done and edited, with trailers already finished, so why the TWO-MONTH delay...?  I am beginning to think it would be better if they had kept their mouths shut, FOX and the brothers...   ::)    Sorry about the venomous post... This is really weird, why is the studio so stubborn to release it for our eyes to see.   :-\   Something is very wrong here, did they decide to re-shoot the whole movie or something? Did they oversee some part of the movie? Did it suck when the managers saw the product?

I don't buy that at all, it will be out sooner than that. That's a big delay when the directors themselves have said it's almost done. The only way this is true is if FOX went over thier heads. Untill Colin confirms this, I will reguard this news as rumour.

Motherf**king shit.  What's the antonym of hype? Because I think that's what this marketing is harboring in me.  I don't know if that is part of some genius new marketing strategy, but if it is, it's working well. Props to these assholes.

If they do delay, it has to have a good reason, even FOX  has a stake in this and delaying for no reason would just cost money. So if it is delayed... good, they can fix somthing that needed it. and if the trailer shows up.... YAY!

The delaying of the trailer is disappointing, but even then I do not think we all would be as angry if there were more pictures from the movie to be scene, just as there is for movies that are months away.

If anybody here could be in an AVP movie which creature would you play? The Alien or the Predator? I've heard the Predator suit is very heavy. And the Alien head can weigh up to 8 Pounds.

my theory is that Fox does not agree with Colin Bros. to release the fim R rated, they want to take a maximun of money they want EVERYONE to see the movie (like the producers of the crappy Robocop 3...) and they fight against the Colin Strause because they want to cut the movie (and the trailers) so I think they have in mind "the trailers will not be released until they are cut"... I bet the trailers will come sooner..cut to a PG or PG-13 at best...or it will be a Direct-to-video (like the Starship troopers sequels..) (sorry for my bad english, I'm french) Anyway, the alien franchise is dead since a decade (Alien on earth in the present??? and Strause Bros say they are fans of aliens?? it's a joke...) I'm waiting this movie only for the return of the original-like predator (I loved P2 in the city)

BUT STILL.... they comeback to wait a little more. I might think fox is doing this to make us way more interested... actually make us desperate for every single pixel. .... and yeah... sometimes we dont have that much eather (when producing that is).  On the other hand... I didnt knew this until my name was know even on japan and things like that. and it was because in April 1st 2001 (if I remmember correctly) I realeased a pre-beta-testing fighting game charecter that resembled alot like Zero (megamanX series)... Hmmmm, I this is starting to worry me now!   Why is it they are so hesitant about showing a simple little trailer or even a short teaser that is already finished?   We only have got one f**king picture from them?! Why are they being so secret about all these little things?!   No other film out there that is coming out next year is being so secret about showing something. Why is it out of all of the movies coming out next year AVP2 seems to be so special in not showing anything?!  For the first time, I'm starting to feel really negative about this shit! I have a feeling two things are either happening. Which is brings me to this, one, FOX is trying to make AVP2 PG-13, or the movie sucks really bad and they need to edit and fix the hell out of it so it looks "kind of good," but no really towards the fans.  This secret bullshit can't be good! I just felt a bad drift for the first time about AVP2.   I'm not pissed off that I'm not seeing a trailer, that's not whats bothering me. The end of September, huh? I had a feeling the official theatrical trailer would play in front of RESIDENT EVIL: EXTINCTION and now it looks like that is more likely to happen now that it's been delayed until the end of next month. RE3 will be released on September 21.

Over at IMDb Greg stated that he knows things are a little slow and he said the movie is only 4 months away, so he basically confirmed that it will be released in December, so thats for ya'll who think it'll be released next year. Also he stated that Fox will decide when the trailer is released and not the Bros or production team. Also he said not to critizice (oops I know I spelled that wrong) the delayed trailer because when Fox does release stuff they'll release a shit load of trailers, clips, and photos. Somewhere (got look again to see where) but the pic of Wolf holding Alien I heard is fake, though I doubt this cause Bros confirmed its true. Anyways what I'm basically saying is right now f**k Fox and by the time all of this delayed shit is over we all will have forgotten it!   ;D

It could just be false misleading information as a marketing thing from Fox.   If you guys remember they said that they were adding new things to the film so that could take more time.  They've also said that they have multiple trailers but everyone in the studio has to agree about which one to show.  All in time people.

It is WAY TOO EARLY for them to be releasing a full-on trailer for this movie. There doesn't need to be marketing THIS EARLY for a movie that wont be released until the end of December. You're all being a punch of impatient little pricks. I hope the directors stop feeding you all with replies. None of you whiners even deserve that courtesy.

"There doesn't need to be marketing THIS EARLY for a movie that wont be released until the end of December."  If you look at the traditional marketing strategy for this kind of film you would find that most movies would have brought some kind of awareness to the project at this point, especially when you factor in that principal photography began over a year ago. Most major releases with the kind of built-in audience that these franchise titles have would most certainly have released production stills or even a teaser poster at this point. Everything that has leaked so far has been near accidental. Maybe Fox has a strong advertising campaign planned for this movie but three months prior to release is cutting it close.

2 SHREK  The reason why the Pred does not have the markings, or at least different ones is because he is most likley from a different clan. He is supposedly been sent back from his clan to check out what happened with the previous movie. My guess is that the Predalien grows to adulthood onboard the Pred ship and causes it to crash back down to Earth a group of Predator clans chooses the fittest clan and the fittest warrior and it happens to be him. He either killed alot of Aliens (with different markings of course) or he has killed some other extraterristreal creature many times. But thats my guess(s) so who knows.

Although I agree with you, I have nothing against the bros, but it seems like we are being kept in the dark in ALL aspects of the film by ANYONE involved in it.

I suggest the Strause Bros. to not even say anything anymore, anbout when something is going to be released, because this will just get everyone pissed, as you have all seen.

Hahahaha! Oh, that's just funny. See the reason why they are delaying the trailer is because the movie isn't about Aliens Vs Predator, its about a Clown Vs Predator.  It starts off with this new clown right. He is trying out his new flower gun thing, so he goes out in the back yard to give it a test. Anyways, little does he know that there is a stealthed Predator right in front of him, taking a whizz. The Predator doesn't detect him because he has spent the whole afternoon making fairy floss at the local ice cream store. So the Clown accidentally shoots the Predator, and the Predator gets pissed, and engages the Clown, thinking the flower gun thing as an actual weapon.  Anyways long story short, the Clown kills the Predator by shoving his big red nose and wig down the Predator's mouth, and then grabs a pogo-stick and finishes him off. Then an Alien (which looks like a large dog covered in a garbage bag) kills the clown. Then the Alien kills itself.  True story.    ;D      :'(    God............... What a disappointment.

2 AdamJZ  The Bros didn't specifically state that the trailer would be out now. It was Greg's guess. About a week or so after Comic-Con. Thats it. He NEVER stated that it would be out know. But I'm sure they both are mad at Fox like we are because it aint out yet.
