Some creative licence! Theres a non functional airlock which I'm repurposing as an exit in my level. All key cards will be on the same level as well, although I'm looking to get some vents in somehow. We'll see how it goes.

Any Predator, no matter how big and strong, isn't going to survive a facehugger. That's got to count for something.
Would the Predator Killer suit be able to resist one?
If it's made out of the same metal that Wolf used to fight aliens, then yes.

Quote from: Isolatedmorph on Today at 10:39:31 AMHi all, I'm Lozza and I'm 26. This is a long one but want to share my experience with like minded fans and the journey I had to becoming one.

I was exposed to the universes of Alien and Predator at a young age through the PC games AVP and AVP2, I use to watch my bothers and dad play from behind their chair and when I was a little older I braved the Predator campaigns but still crapped myself but was able to complete them. I could barley touch the marine campaign on AVP2 I was too afraid.

When the Quadrilogy came out I remember my mum picking it up when at a Tesco, the box freaked me the F out and I remember mum and dad inviting my sister and husband round and they all sat down with my older brothers too and watched Aliens. They said I could watch it too, the menu freaked me out so I went to bed being able to hear the movie and it scared me half to death.

Some time later, mum got AVP on DVD and when I had the courage to ask her "Can I watch it?" And she said yes I thought "This is it, brave it. You like the cool predators from the games." I open the case and it's a face hugger disc, it scared me to death because it was horrific and looked like a spider. So I didn't watch it then.

I eventually watched both the AVP films, and really enjoyed them because I was watching these two horror icons that scared me to death but grew the courage to watch them and I was a kid or was watching something I wasn't supposed but was allowed by my parents. When AVPR came out my dad brought the 2disc SE and I watch the bonus features because I liked to do that with the Star Wars prequels, but these had snippets of the alien and predator movies and I was watching this stuff I thinking this seems so cool and convincing myself that if I can watch these snippets I can watch the real deal. I couldn't.

Some more time, I get AVP 2010. Love it. I'm in my xbox gaming prime in middle school and feeling like the cool kid playing this game my friends wouldn't. I grew up in a house where my family all knew Alien and Predator but no one else I ever talked to did and for years it felt like I knew this niche thing and could only talk about it with my one of brothers. He said I could watch them with him because he knew I wanted to. I watched everything starting with predator then the alien films when the blu ray collection came out. I loved it.

I was lucky enough to see both Prometheus and Covenant at the cinema with my dad and really enjoyed them.

Quick fire now so you know where I stand but this is all my opinion:

Alien 3 is a misunderstood masterpiece and is not only a great film but when viewed as a trilogy the best of the original three as a final act.

Alien Isolation is the best representation of the xeno across the movies and the games I've played. With the new movie coming I think it could also be made into a film but most definitely needs a sequel.

The AVP pc games need to come to console with multiplayer.

Covenant was a truly bone chilling experience and the ending with David is one of the most horrifying ends in film. I also think whilst I would love a sequel to this film, the fact that we don't have one really hammers home the unsettling ending.

There needs to be AVP revival in both game and movies, it could easily be an alternate Universe situation.

To end because this has gone on long  enough, I'm incredibly excited for the new Alien movie and think it could be the scariest alien film we've ever got.

I would love to talk more, if anyone wants to pick my brain please do as I'll talk for hours, message me if you like for more direct conversation. Never be apart of a form but been using the website since in middle school.

You made it this far, thank you for your time!

Buying Alien dvd in Tesco, you must be British then. 🤣
I've done the same.

Everything you said about alien 3 is correct, the only question remaining is...theatrical or assembly cut?

Quote from: TheDerelict on Mar 23, 2024, 04:23:24 AMEveryone one calls it "the engineer ship" or "the space jockey ship." But there was a time, long before the adventures of Elizabeth and friends, that when talking about the alien ship in Alien, it was just called The Derelict.
No one seems to call it that anymore.
Simpler times.

I'm with Ridley Scott on this one and still call it the croissant. 🥐

I respectfully disagree sir,

The nightmarish designs of Giger deserve more respect than to be described alongside the flaky, fluffy final product of yeast risen dough.

Team Love the Skull here.

Though I have to say it works best when you can barely see it. It needs to work on an almost subconscious level. Was that a skull I just saw?

Quote from: BlueMarsalis79 on Today at 12:22:01 PMAfter ten years on 16EG14 nothing remains outside of the original virus according to David and what we obviously see with the Neomorph stuff.
Aliens would also eradicate all the native wildlife and leave themselves dormant and waiting, like the spores.

QuoteUnlike what we see in the film after Oram dies, the other Facehuggers in the vicinity actively seek out hosts,
Only one does, in response to someone else entering the room. Facehuggers generally wait for things to come to them -- just like the spores.

Quotethe longer incubation time means the Alien escapes the planet.
Eh, you're overselling this. The Covenant was en route, there's not long between him being infected and them taking off.

Facehuggers also normally stay on for quite a while, which immobilises the host for the duration, so they can only be moved if something moves them. After the facehugger comes off there's usually not much time before the Alien is born.

Alien Films / Re: Egg on Sulaco
Last post by c0rnel - Today at 12:59:49 PM
I thought of a few other possible scenarios, some of which might sound crazy.

1) At the beginning of Aliens the marine crew asked if this was going to be another bug hunt. This might imply that they've had an encounter with xenomorph in the past perhaps on a smaller scale. Over time, without their knowledge xenomorph got onboard, hid, and perhaps even laid eggs if a queen was among them somewhere like in the storage area until later when the marines disturbed it by moving cargo around to prepare for the mission in Aliens.

2) The company sabotaged the expendable crew by turning them into lab rats and putting xenomorph onboard without their knowledge or consent for the sake of running experiments, re-routing them to Fury 161 (Alien 3 planet) should the crew survive the events of LV-426. Everything would be logged and sent back to the company for analysis. I'd like to think that LV-426 was not the only place to have a xenomorph and because over 57+ years have passed since the primary events of Alien and the company being in business of colonizing other planets they would have prior knowledge of xenomorph existence, maybe even a secluded lab off base somewhere to study them.

3) The xenomorph queen we see at the end of Aliens is not the same queen from before the explosion of LV-426 facility (see points 1 and 2 above). A few indicators are that:
a) In Aliens the queen is big and heavy.
b) The landing gear gets temporarily stuck due to metal debris being caught in it but this is resolved soon after and we get a 180 degree view of the dropship during the scene where Ripley says "punch it Bishop".
We see the landing gear (both feet) retracted properly in a few scenes including during the big facility explosion. Simply put, the queen on lv-426 would not fit or hang onto the dropship in any way to make it back to the Sulaco. It died in the explosion behind.
c) The xenomorph queen we see in the cutscenes emerging from near the dropship doesn't seem to have losely ripped eggsac flesh like the one back on LV-426. What we see in the scenes of Aliens is an emerging queen from the rear of the craft near landing gear to make us think it's the same queen therefore covering the real plot.

4) The possibility of another company android or person being onboard the Sulaco who did not accompany the rest of the crew on their mission on LV-426 aided in the plot. He could even have his own compartment and cryotube (like Dr Weylan in Prometheus) secluded from the rest of the crew. He would strictly follow company orders and be programmed differently.

Any feedback is appreciated.

Alien 3 (1992) 35mm print scan

I'm uncertain about the color correction on this print. I've acquired 35mm print scans of all three films. Now, all that's left is to find a projector, and I'll be able to recreate a cinematic experience at home.

When I first played the game I was getting ready to extract making my way back to the APC, time was running out and I didn't know what would happen. Got ambushed waiting for an elevator and lost a guy. Three left. At the bottom got attacked again, lost another and another was injured maybe knocked out but either way I had to carry him. Ended up running out to the APC which gave me covering fire and escaped.

It was the most badass experience I think I've ever experienced when gaming and I game a lot. But I think the reason it was so special was because it was Aliens, a franchise that I adore and it felt so cinematic without it being scripted. Beautiful time.

Still haven't completed it because I switch games too much and not great at RTS but I do wish the game was FPS. There is something nice about you controlling a square though.
