Did the author take the final chapter of the USCM Technical Manual into account when addressing the discovery of Bishop's remains on Fury 161?

Since controlling the spread of Aliens is so fundamental to the characters' motivations in the Alien movies, why is their source so glossed over in the book? Did that come from Titan, since it feels like a recurring theme?

How did the idea to use Morse come about? Was there any stipulations with using the character - like you have to mention he is penning Space Beast.
