I'm not gonna freak out until I start reading the reviews and get some decent trailers to see what the film is like overall.

The guy has done some good movies, though, I will admit the kind of movies he's done are very different than what a Pred movie really should be.

I'm gonna choose to optimistic though. I never thought we'd even get another Pred movie and I look forward to the possiblity it will rock. You never know, we may get suprised with a great film.

As long as the predator has no comic value, the rest i can deal with.

'Predator 2' had several poorly-advised attempted comedy scenes in it.

But was the creature itself involved in any?

I think Xeno is referring to the "smashes door with old lady there" scene. It was a bit cringe, but it was dealt with quickly and was a bit of light comic relief IMHO.

Rodriguez on the other hand has the potential to show the predators playing their version of Texas hold em with body parts....

The scene where Jerry drops the beaker and shatters it on the floor is hilarious.

I agree ... or the scene were Pred says "Motherf-cker" lol.

I know they're goofy, but I actually dig the comedic scenes in Predator 2.

People can't we get Robert Rodriguez to visit us here at AVP Galaxy so we can clear some things with him and maybe put forth some ideas?

I always thought when the Predator yells, "mother f**ker" it was kinda bad ass.

Yet despite how much I like Robert, I think he is the wrong kind of director for this franchise. Not one of his films is serious.

But out of odd choices something great can be born. As seen with Hick's example of Casino Royale; Campbell didn't appear to be a good choice.

And how many people really thought Peter Jackson was the best choice for Lord Of The Rings?  His main claim to fame was splatter comedy (despite the the Oscar nom for Heavenly Creatures).
