My vote goes for Harrigan.

He showed an interesting level of aggressiveness, and demonstrate not ridiculouse close combat capacities.

(his skills in firefights are very impressive but given the fact the duel is limited to hand to hand combat, this argument is useless)

Police training isn't anything like military training.  Lower physical standards.  Police enforce law, the military kills the enemy, and police are always in control of their surroundings.  Military units function in enviroments where they oftentimes don't (comparing units like SWAT to special ops groups like Navy Seals).  Swat can shut down and evacuate an area in their city and focus on taking out or negotiating an enemy to surrender.  Military has to fight in an entirely unique and hostile enviroment where EVERYONE might be an enemy or it might be wired to a hugeass IED.

You'd have a hard time comparing military combat MP's to everyday police.

Only upper echelon police forces get any sort of military training.  And we aren't talking about SWAT.  Things like the FBI's Hostage Rescue Team, the US Border Patrol's Bortac, some specialized police forces of the CIA etc.

Character sketches created by Ridley Scott for the cast of Alien. I copied that particular transcript off of Val's blog, to be specific.

Space military training. In space. In the future.

And he was too cool for that, too.

It's hard to say. We don't know if he would have followed it without weapons. But it still took plenty of guts to go into that slaughterhouse, seeing as how Keye's men got killed in seconds. Even though they weren't military they still came across as pretty tough. He must have known that his chances to kill the Predator were pretty slim.

Anyhow, the original question wasn't about who was the bravest. It's pretty easy to see that neither Harrigan or Parker was a coward. What it comes down to is experience with fighting and what training they had. Harrigan probably had basic military training, plus plenty of years on the street as a cop (in a rough neighborhood). What kind of military training did Parker have exactly?

It doesn't make him less of a badass.
Less than Parker. He'd effectively crippled the Predator. The threat was severely lessened.

QuoteIt still took plenty of courage to go in after an alien creature that slaughtered a military team just seconda ago.
Keyes' men weren't military.

Quotebut he still didn't last long against it.
Because he had nothing that could kill it.

Harrigan would win.
Why?

Cop vs. military. Why's the cop going to win?

Good point, actually IDK, I think it would be a good fight though. I just said Harrigan because I like him more. :)

It's not exactly a fair comparison.

It doesn't make him less of a badass. It still took plenty of courage to go in after an alien creature that slaughtered a military team just seconda ago. Not to mention following it down the outside of a building when you have a fear of heights.

Sure, Parker had balls for going after the Alien without weapons, but he still didn't last long against it. Brave, but stupid.
