I also remember in the screentests that it came out that she's initially being forced into something of a "healer" role within her tribe before she tries to become a hunter, so maybe she'll end up using poison in some way (poison-tipped arrow?) thanks to her knowledge of local plants and medicines to weaken or kill it.
Either way yeah, it's crazy the amount of comments there seem to be about Comanches standing no chance because they're primitive or whatever. It's like......did you not watch the first film even a little bit? Or do you remember the end credits coming up after the scene where everyone is blasting the jungle?
