Update: Aliens Minimates is actually a fan game rather than a fan film as we initially thought. It was created by Dave School which is a school for visual effects and animation students, and one team handled the cinematics while the other handled the gaming side. It’s basically a 2.5D side-scroller, made in Unity 3D, and features 8 mini-levels. Ripley has to team up with the Colonial Marines and Bishop, voiced by Lance Henriksen, to destroy the aliens. You can check out the cinematics from the game below or play the game right here in your web browser (600MB).

Awesome stuff. Animation is fantastic and Lance Henriksen actually does sound exactly the same from Aliens. At first I thought they were just using sound bytes or something.
Not keen on the whole minimates concept though and I think I would have liked it even better if they'd have used normal animation for the faces.
Wow. That was really impressive. Well done!!

I thought it was really cool that he did that with them. Lance is probably one of the coolest guys involved in the series.

I would have prefer traditional animation but it was still good. I imagine it was all part of the teaching exercise more than anything!
Great little video . Cool animation and I liked the idea of minimates reminded me of lego Star Wars mini movies. Let's see some more !
i wouldnt mind seeing more. or having actual aliens legos
Ha, that was really fun. Excellent job on the animation.
Certified cool. 8)
That shit was f**king bananas...
A+
Was about to remark on how alike the voice actor for Bishop was, but waited for the credits, just in case. Very cool, that participation. :)
Some very nice directing! great stuff! ;D
Still really cool video non-theless

Seems we have a bit of invasion of Unity games at the moment.
Edited News Post accordingly.
Edit: Think I got as far as the reactor room where you have to get to a vent stealthily and I accidentally exited the game. Biggest issue with these Unity games, there's no sorta save points or anything so you have to do it all in one sitting.
what should i have to do on the level where i shouldnt be seen and there is a locked vent on the floor and 2 alien running around?
Cant do that damn locked vent :(
epic video! :D
I figured out the locked vent thing. There is a box on the top left catwalk. I pushed it off and it broke the vent allowing me to get through and on to the next level. 8)
EDIT- The box is on the top right catwalk. Still learning the difference between left and right. :-[
Great quality and very cool. If it were a full scale title, this would be great as an Indy-type game for download on Xbox Live and/or PSN. It's the Legos game that should have been. :)
How did u get up to the top right catwalk FlippyS???
