As many have pointed out before now, financially
making an Alien film and a Halloween film-
and thus their financial success:
Aren't in the same ballpark.

They might consider it after Ridley is done, but the Halloween retcon was much more acceptable among the fanbase than an Alien one could ever be.

The Alien series can go into many directions, there is a lot of space for ideas, it can work with new characters, we can always have new aliens pooping out of somewhere. While Halloween is dependable on Michael Myers, so at this point the only options were either a retcon or another remake, and considering how those failed, retcon it is.

You can't make an Alien film for $10m.

However the idea might appeal to Disney once they take over.

But because the Halloween retcon was so successful don't you think they might look at it again.

They probably thought about it more than twice when they were looking at Blomkamp's retcon.

And ultimately decided against it.

Hi guys first post,

I was just wondering what your thoughts were regarding how well received both critically and from fans the Halloween retcon was and if you thought that because of this then the execs at fox might think twice about making an alien retcon film.
