Predator 2 appreciation

I believe the only 2 Predator sequels that acknowledge Predator 2 is 'The Predator' and 'Prey' all other sequels including AVP's just ignore it. The cool thing about Predator 2 climax is when Greyback hands over Harrigan the flintlock pistol it opens out to so many possibilities which future sequels ignored. It only got recognized now in 'Prey' and I was pleasantly surprised with that flintlock pistol.

I for one enjoyed Predator 2 and don't understand why it gets rated so low. Characters could've been developed a little more otherwise it just expanded on the mythos.
- New weapons
- Amazing medi-kit scene.
- New Vision modes.
- Doesn't attack unarmed people, children and pregnant women.
- They've been hunting on earth since centuries.
- Cool spaceship and interior incl. trophy room
- Other clans.
- Torments the protagonist into executing ones close to him for a fight.

I think the creative team behind Prey appreciates these aspects too about Predator 2 finally tying it down into Prey.

Hell yeah!!! Honestly my favorite character in the franchise, The Bad Blood Predator wouldn't even exist without Predator 2, his entire self, body and armor are based on the city hunter aesthetic. It had a huge impact on the EU and the fan base as well as being my second favorite predator movie. There is no denying the awesomeness of Predator 2!

P2 was the first Alien or Predator movie I ever saw. I remember not finishing it on first watch, but I can't remember where I ended. I think I was 8.
