Record label Varèse Sarabande have announced the release of the AvP Requiem soundtrack. It will be available to buy on December 11, 2007.

The epic score by composer Brian Tyler is truly apocalyptic. Its a massive, driving, powerful orchestra assault that adds an exciting new opus to the previous franchise scores of Jerry Goldsmith (Alien), Alan Silvestri (Predator, Predator 2), James Horner (Aliens) and Elliot Goldenthal (Alien 3).

When it says 'adds' does it mean 'accompanies existing music' or 'adding all the old themes together'? I am hoping for the latter.
i dunno, but i hope it'll be in stores and you hope in stores and you wont have to get it off ebay like every other alien/predator soundtrack >:(

Going to wait for others' opinions on it. There were similar things said about the previous soundtrack and only a couple of tracks of that appealed to me.
Anyone else think this is kinda promising? They don't seem to put out scores unless the score is good shit. I don't recall AVP having a soundtrack... I definitely wouldn't have bought it...
Now thats great news but I'm not going to buy it on december 11th, I want to be surprised in how good the score is when I see the movie in theaters ;)
Very true necrotard, apparently everyone is raving about this score. Avp did not have a score for sale. I hope the score is amazing, it could be one of the best aspects of this movie.
All of the films have had a soundtrack. It might be difficult to find them in shops, but a quick search of amazon.com or play.com can turn them up.
Nobody is "raving" about it, because we haven't heard it. :) Only the people involved in it have been talking it up and precisely the same thing happened, the last time. There were actually a couple of interesting tracks in the official soundtrack for 'Alien Versus Predator', but as with those of 'Alien Resurrection', most of them did very little for me. The last truly great soundtrack was the one for the original first 'Aliens Versus Predator' game, in the late nineties. Quite whether this can match or improve upon that should be interesting to discover.

well...correction, its the same for both of the pc games actually, but still...
the AVP pc games music aren't that great, they seemed average. :-\

the pc game soundtracks arent the music from the games themselves. they're on the bonus cd that comes with the game that has various tracks and mixes from the movie scores (alien, aliens, predator etc.)

Theres one good thing about the Brian Tyler interview:The movies at least 44 minutes long! ;D .I just hope it longer then 90 minutes! ;D .And everyone has a different taste in music,so some will like the tracks,others wont.And i think everyone should just chill and relax! 8) .

The second game's music wasn't all that great. The first one's was and came on its own CD, too.

In fact I really can't think of a single song from that movie. Howver, I can think of the music in Aliens, Predator, and especially that powerful song that accompanies the seen where Ripley 'commits suicide' to ensure the death of the chestbuster in Alien 3. I did not really like Alien 3 much, however did like the music. And Alien Resurection, well I pretend that movie never occured.
I got to get my hands on everything I can from AVP R to help me endure the hard time until I can see the movie. Im especially anxious to get the soundtrack, since I already like the little music in the store showdown. ;)
