I kind of like the snippet as it implies (from Fassbender's delivery) that Michael is indeed sabotaging the translation/conversation. Living for ever may very well be Weylands intention, but you wouldn't tell a 'superbeing' that... not on a first date anyways.

The little soliloquy by Weyland I might not mind, but it's also a tad on the nose - like the over-long version of the Vickers/Weyland scene.  I have to see the full Engineer scene, which is clearly longer than the scraps leaking online.

Indeed.  Lots of bad calls by Ridley on Prometheus.

While I respect your opinion, I think all the deleted scenes released so far add some kind of value to the film.

Just listened to more of the audio commentary and Ridley Scott mentions that the Engineer was "maybe insulted that a non-human was talking to him" and hence why he decapitates David.
