From what I've gathered skimming through some posts about Fire and Stone on here it seems like the general reaction was mixed, but I certainly enjoyed it enough to want to read Life and Death. Hopefully I'll enjoy it too.

It's been a while since I read both series, but from what I remember F&S disappointed because it was doing a Prometheus and vague in all its answer, but Life and Death I rather enjoyed.

Yeah I think part of why I was ok with it was that I figured they wouldn't be able to give any definitive answers without stepping on Covenant's then-in production shoes, so a whole lot of the black goo mutating stuff with no big definitive answers to the questions Prometheus brought up actually felt completely accurate to the source material to me!

It was interesting to read about how much stuff they had planned that had to be changed as a result though, like the inclusion of multiple adult Deacons rather than Aliens. It be cool to see what the original plans for the series were before Fox asked for changes.
