With the 40th anniversary of the film that started it all just a day away, 20th Century Fox uploaded a brand new video to their social channels yesterday that celebrated the fans of Alien.

Using footage of the new interviews with Sigourney Weaver and Sir Ridley Scott, as well as the videos submitted by fans for #MyAlien40th on Alien Day, the tribute is a nearly 4 minute long celebration of the fans that keep the Alien franchise alive!

40 years later, this genre-defining film continues to the one of most loved Sci-Fi Horror films of all time – and that's thanks to you, the fans. Your creativity and support inspire us every day. As a way of showing our appreciation, we've put together this fan celebration video to honor the love you've shown Alien for four decades.

Thank you, Alien fans. You are truly the best in the universe.

I drew some pictures for this, did all the hashtags and @'s but i did not make the cut. A lot of random dog's managed to get featured though.... I keep saying in my head is I am a loser, but then I was like whatever, I know I love the A L I E N movies.

Why go for a second rate retelling of an excellent story when the proper sequel could still be made?

Cool news.  Unexpected but welcome.  Hopefully Michael Biehn gets to play Hicks again in the near future in a proper sequel to Aliens.

Cool!

Everything afterwards? Off topic.

You don't seem me bringing up Alien Crucible everywhere I go,
there's usually a respective subforum for a cancelled project for discussion about it.

It's a cool video, and I always felt that Ripley was a great role model for girls.  Society has long portrayed women as if they were in need of a savior.  Alien turned that notion on its head in the best of ways...
