QuoteJohannes Roberts (47 Meters Down, The Strangers: Prey at Night) is directing a feature film reboot for Constantin Film, and we've got casting news today.

The "origin story adaptation" of the games is set in Racoon City in 1998, Deadline reports.

The cast includes Kaya Scodelario (Crawl) as Claire Redfield alongside Hannah John-Kamen (Ant-Man and the Wasp) as Jill Valentine, Robbie Amell (Upload) as Chris Redfield, Tom Hopper (The Umbrella Academy) as Albert Wesker, Avan Jogia (Zombieland: Double Tap) as Leon S. Kennedy, and Neal McDonough (Yellowstone) as William Birkin.

I'm down with that casting (at least the ones I know). Could be good.

Great cast. Hopefully McDonnough doesn't play Birkin with an Irish accent. ;D

I'm guessing he's Barry. That's awesome casting.

Nope, he has been cast as Chief Irons.

So this is Resident Evil 2 then?  and not set in the mansion? 0_o

It's largely RE2, with the cast of RE1 now in Raccoon City. The mansion is supposed to feature, but it will likely be in small flashbacks throughout the film or a short prologue.

ahh.. but why can't they just make a movie based in the mansion? and then make RE2 in the city?

Cast of RE1 in RE2 movie is weird imo
