Funny how people keep saying that it's not a sequel and not a reboot either, just a movie located in the same universe as the first two. Nothing wrong with that, but I think it's cool too if it's called a sequel.
Actors are often times very stupid. They're not necessarily more in the know, or more knowledgeable, than any folk here.

I don't think they will actually precisely acknowledge the two AVP's in the movie, nothing I saw and read until now indicates that anyway.

Decades after the film, Weyland Industries gains access to the Predator ship and studies the FTL tech to develop their own which eventually links to Prometheus. Rory is hired as a linguist to study the Engineer language and help teach David how to speak it, that guy on the screen talking to David in the beginning of Prometheus is actually Rory's son and Quinn's grandson.

Then the AvPs are canon to the Predator universe. I wouldn't expect so - Shane Black dislikes the AvPs and the concept from what I've heard.
