How do you think it would look? I would imagine the predator armour to be somewhat like the first alien.....silver,sleek..lots of tubes.
And the bio helmet, maybe semi-clear so that in some of the lighting you could partially see the predators face.
It would still have a p*ssy face, except maybe without the mandibles. :P

It would probably look somewhat like the male alien from Species II, which featured both dreadlocks and mandibles, but with a distinctly Gigeresque aesthetic.

I've always said I'd like to see a Predator designed by Giger. Not in a suit, but just on paper. You never know what kind of good idea could spring out of a quick sketch of his take on the Predator.

Well, you got to admit that the guy was a little creepy. He was a visionary and a great artist, but still a very strange guy.
I freakin love his art, a lot of sexual stuff in all of his works of art, and they are simply amazing. If he were to design a predator, it is too hard to imagine a masterpiece.
If Giger designed the predator, the movie wouldn't have been HALF as great as it is. Sorry, but his work may have been perfect for the alien films, but certainly not the predator ones.

Different people have different opinions, you dont like them, oh well. Im just saying that the predator wouldn't be as great as it is now IMO. See that, IN MY OPINION. If Giger wanted to try and redesign the predator, fine by me, but I still think it wont be as good as Stan's.
At first you were saying that the movie wouldn't be good if Giger designed the pred. That is what I am talking about, not the design.
I done mean Giger changing the predator adding penis's and what, im sure he'd stick to the foundations of the original predator, i just want your opinions in how you would in vision his Armour and weapons designs.
I think it will look the same but the amour will look differnt.
I'm sure if Giger desinged the Predator it would be a less human looking creature and probably a much spikier head.

Yeah, goes for the movie as well. So I guess if you decided to use that trash of a design that was originally suppose to be the pred would it have been so succesful, HELL NO! The design of the creature plays a great role in making a movie good, it isn't the sole thing that will make it great, but its one thing that is required. The movie came out great, and what helped made it great was the creature in it. The design that Winston made, and I doubt the movie would have been as good if Giger designed the predator. Hell, I doubt we would even HAVE the predator now if he did.

I agree with both these statements. Giger has a very dark style to his work, although it's not all overly sexual. (One piece of his work that sticks out in my mind is a canvas full of babies vomiting on one another for example!) But the Alien is HIS. No-one else could have created that, and likewise no-one else could have created the Predator like it was originally conceived.
It would be interesting to see what came up, but it would be purely just that. Interesting. Like seeing Angus Young playing a concert with Slipknot. Worlds apart. (Although now the idea has struck me I'd rather like to see that concert lol!)

NEVER EVER FRIGGIN CALL GIGER A PERVERT!!!!! Yeah...I have a LARGE obsession over Giger's kickass artwork. He was strange but not a complete pshyco pervert. Anyways, a Giger-made Predator would be interesting but it would pretty much ruin the Pred. I'd imagine it's NOTHING like the Pred. It'd be biomechanical and be COMPLETLEY different. Which is what would ruin them.
if GIGER had design PREDATOR - then the design would had probably been similar in design to the ALIEN. reason why i say this is because he tends to incorporate certain shapes and objects etc. into his artwork and designs. example when he design SIL for SPECIES. the SIL design had very strong similarities to his ALIEN design

Can I get a link to the baby picture? And btw Giger can't design chestbursters for shit... and they changed a lot of his designs for the Alien movies. If Giger designed the Predator, he'd make it so their technology like grew out of them or something...

The only new thing Giger designed for Alien - that was used - was the derelict ship, the alien planet and the space jockey. Everything else was either taken from Giger's books (including the basic design of the alien) or was modified from his original design.
Using this approach, with a capable director who also has an eye for design like Ridley Scott, you could get Giger to make a very decent predator.

This is a bit late but the person who mentioned that the Pred stuff seems more organic than technical... there may be a reason for that in the expanded universe. ;) Sometimes it's alluded to that the Predators took over the Space Jockey's technology. I haven't read a ton of comics, but in a lot of the things I've seen, they seem similar.
Gigers biomec look is cult, thats for sure.
But you know what, what i really love about the predator is that it is nothing like that look and that they went into the other direction instead of trying to do something like that.
I love the exotic/insect look of the predator, so i agree with predboy, the predator is perfect how he is now. No doubt.
I would like to see Gigers outlook on the predator and what things he would change and add etc.

I know NecroPost is forbidden, but I've been thinking about this idea recently. Really was a long time ago since this post was active and I wanted to put my two cents in it. it would've been cool in some regard, but I think the final product that we is great. Giger would have entertain the name "pussy face". Like seriously his art is renowned for being subtly sexual in a way. Why wouldn't he indicate that the predator designing.
