Greta video. This is in my top 10 all time games. Been playing again the last few days on my TV with a PS4 Controller.  That makes it really hard lol.

Love it.

Absolutely amazing video. Tim Jones really DID do ALIENS and PREDATOR justice in a cross-over and is a fan.

While I do like AVP (2004) the film, I really wanted.........you get the idea.

I have to say I prefer Monolith's ALIENS VS PREDATOR-2, although I am sure Rebellion laid the ground work for that release in technical design (but different game engine).

Interesting 20th Century Fox reverted the license back to Rebellion for ALIENS VS PREDATOR (2010) which went onto becoming the highest grossing ALIEN game of all time.

Any ideas why 20th Century Fox flip flopped between the two development houses?

Also if it was a success why are we without an AVP-4 videogame?

Wow the original was pretty bad. I'm glad they re did it with props and costumes. The american actors were way to over the top.

Development was in 1999 and, reading between the lines, Rebellion had a strict "cut-scene" budget- hence doing in level monitors.

Nothing wrong with American actors per-se. ALIENS actor Michael Biehn did some excellent cut-scene acting for Command and Conquer- Tiberian Sun, also released around the same time.

Extremely unlikely, the controller support exists on the PC version- but it isn't great.
Unless you're referring to AVP 2010, which will likely be along in due course.

Unfortunately it’s been a quiet year on the gaming front. We had the announce of Cold Iron Studios’ Aliens game but we’ve had no information since. What better way to help tide us over in this quiet period than to look back to the late 90s/early 00’s at Rebellion’s amazing Aliens vs. Predator!

As part of their War Stories series where they talk to game developers about “gameplay design elements that almost broke their brains,Ars Technica have uploaded a new interview with Tim Jones, the lead artist and producer on Aliens vs. Predator (Classic/2000), in which he talks about the development of the game!

Tim, who also worked on Rebellion’s later AvP Requiem and Aliens vs. Predator (2010), talks about the difficulty they faced deciding to ensure all the single player levels worked across all three species (presumably for the Gold Edition), the dynamic lighting, censoring the cut-scenes, the technical limitations of the technology at the time and plenty more!

Tim also talks about adding narrative into the game and those infamous and changing video logs scattered throughout the game. There’s even some cool photos of the Rebellion crew at work putting the videos together!

Back in January of 2010, just prior to the release of Aliens vs. Predator (2010) in February, Rebellion updated and re-released their 1999/2000 incarnation of Aliens vs. Predator. It is still available to pick-up for next to nothing on Steam and GOG. As well as running well on modern machines, it also features cross-platform play.
