I'm guessing she'll be held on the Weyland premises for a substantial amount of time and undergo several gruelling corporate interrogations, i.e. Ripley in Aliens. It's safe to presume that everyone from the first expedition ends up being screwed. Lex's career is probably over because of what happened.
She'll give testimony as part of an investigation as to what happened on Bouvet. If she has half a brain, she'll lie. The investigators (be they corporate or government) will eventually get frustrated and lose interest.
Then she'll go back to her old life. Simple.

In what respects was she 'great'? Not trying to be a smartarse - it's just I've never encountered anyone, even people who liked AvP, who thought she was 'great'.
Well, she has some great cans on her. Not that you'd know from AvP...it was only seeing Sanaa on "Nip/Tuck" that tipped me off to this luscious fact. :)
I've always thought she would have froze. She had no warm gear, and there was one snow crawler left which had its lights on, so I would think the battery would have died soon. But then again the chopper on that boat might had come by to check on the team...then she would be killed by a Weyland spook after interrogation.
She's not going to freeze. As you said there's a tractor nearby with power. At the very least she can radio the ship for help.

The person or persons who should never be allowed near the franchise are ADI and Paul Anderson, that is who should be banned from anything related to these two icons. Sannaa wasn't that bad, she had a weak director and a messy script. I would love her to return if there was a better role for her but the porno...Hell to the Naw!!

Nothing would have satisfied me more than to see the "Lex" character's spine ripped from her body... and her head torn off her dead carcass! Why Paul W.S. Anderson didn't do this at the end of AVP, the world may never know! :D

Yeah, the only thing to assume is that she froze, yes, there was a crawler there with its lights on, meaning it'll probably die soon...and she is out in the cold with no worm gear at all, as someone else pointed out, who knows just how far away the boat is, there was a decent drive in the crawlers from the boat to the whaling station, so even if she did radio for someone to come get her, I doubt they'll get there soon enough for her to be ok in such cold temperatures.
So the safest bet is she died...for one reason or another...

the ship from aVP lifts off and the chestburster comes out and after a few hours wreaks havoc on the pred ship and it crashes in gunnison, we can expect this to happen within maybe 5 hours from the events in AVP, maybe even less. by this point Lex is probably still on the BOAT sailing BACK to civilization. I dont think there is ANYWAY that there could be a full scale investigation of crazy news report with a full report of the damage on Bovatoya island, (its a looooooong trip to get there , it took a chopper a few hours to get to the ship which was already sailing there) and it was probably quite a few more hours b4 they got to the island, and then you include maybe 2 hours of plowing theri way to the actual SITE!.

i dont understand why WOMAN have to be hot to become a main character. the reason i liked ripley was because
1. she was not blond, hot looking typical maincharacter woman
2. ripley(signorey) is one of the best female actress(in terms of acting imo)
i hate stereotypical facist ideas where woman in a movie have to be attractive looking no matter how f**king retarded she is and acts and talk like she is reading out of a text book.
ALthough ripley may not be hot as kelly or Lex, at least her acting ability was powerful enough to be memorized even after 2~3 decade. Kelly, Lex are cardboard characters at best. :D
i dont give a f**k if the main character doesnt look like a super model, i just want the character to be belivable and have some sort of dept to the character so i can at least think of the movie seriosly while i watch it.

Well mate, not the best picture comparisons, sigourney looks like she is doing yoga, but snaa is being attacked by an alien, but on screen sanaa looked the most attractive...
Ick. Lathan just bugs me. Weaver was okay in Alien with her revealing shots but neither are my cup of tea.
It wasn't all about the picture. My point was that she was so good, in Aliens that she was F'in nominated for an Oscar! And I think it was the first time for a female nay anyone in a Sci-Fi movie to get that. She has the acting chops, "Lex" just didn't.
I always assumed that over the events of AVP-R, Lex was just making her long ass journey back to civilization. Remember, all he had was that tiny moter bike, and the thing is bound to run out of gas. It's probubly assumed that by the time Lex gets back to the US, the events of AVP-R are done and over with, and she is simply interogated about the events of AVP, thus giving the Weyland-Yutani(?) corp. more insentive to begin even more space exploration.
Lex's whereabouts may be unknown, but I'm sure the memory of the Predators duking out with Aliens in the pyramid will be etched in her mind forever since she will be carrying the combistick with her.
And I bet most of you here would say she will stab herself with the combistick out of grief for her dead fellow archaeologists.
Or mabye the Queen has turned the ship into a Hive and Lex becomes the princess... ::)
