Another new boardgame on the way!
QuoteIn ALIEN: Fate of the Nostromo, players take the role of Nostromo crew members Ripley, Lambert, Parker, Brett, or Dallas. Over the course of the game, they collect scrap, craft items, and fulfill different objectives. The crew will lose and gain morale as they encounter the Alien and other situations. If crew morale reaches zero, players lose the game.
Each turn has two phases. In the Crew Action phase, players creep through the Nostromo's halls, gathering scrap, crafting items, trading scrap and items with other players, and using items and their special abilities. Brett, for example, can craft items with one fewer scrap than other players. If the Alien is within three spaces of the player with the incinerator, that player can use the incinerator to send the Alien back to its nest.
In the Encounter phase, players draw and resolve an Encounter card. The Alien could be lurking behind any corner...
Once the players fulfill their initial objectives, they face one of five final missions, each with a unique set of requirements. Players must fulfill the final mission's requirements simultaneously to win the game. Players can also introduce Science Officer Ash for a more challenging game. Ash moves through the ship, removing scrap and forcing the crew to lose morale

Another one?!
Great looking pieces though. Yet I cringe at the thought of trying to paint them.
Yeah definitely.
Cowards, painting them is the best part!
Seriously though the figures look amazing, too bad there's unlikely to be a way to get extra Big Chaps (other than buying several sets).

Another one?!
Other one was this one yeah?

Did that ever come out? Wasn't there some issue?
There was some drama with it, but it did come out. It's sat on my shelf. It showed up looking like someone had been using it for sports so I wasn't too pleased and haven't even read the rules because I was grumpy about that.
Ravensburger? Oh hell yeah! They made the classic Universal Monsters board game Horrified that I picked up a couple of Christmases ago and loved, and it looks and sounds like this might be sharing some similarities with that. I'm definitely pretty excited about this!

That looks pretty good, if it has the same corridor system as another glorious day in the corps, that could be good for getting new terrain.
I pre-ordered. I just don't have enough Alien games here lately, it seems! ;)
So apparently this is released today in the US (along with a Gargoyles board game by Ravensburger that I didn't know they were making until now). Anyone manage to pick a copy up?
Looks like my local Target stores have them. I'll have to go pick one up.

Probably be another year before we see over here.

I don't think it'll be that long. Ravensburger normally has a small difference between UK and US, but im seeing rumours of October time.
I might just order it off the US Amazon at some point if it doesn't show up any time soon (or costs a lot more). They just announced a sequel to Horrified called Horrified: American Monsters that's due for release in October that I'll 100% be getting because I loved the original and I was super into cryptids and the paranormal when I was young, so I might just wait until that's available on the US Amazon and order them both depending on their availability.
Or I might just say to hell with it and order it as soon as I see it on the US Amazon. Either or.
It's exclusive to Target for several months, apparently.

I love this game! You can play it solo but it's best when playing with multiple others. Plus the soundtrack adds to the experience.
It was recently noticed on Facebook that the cat on the site of the box is actually Goose from Captain Marvel rather than Jonsey.
I picked up my copy today. I played a few runs with all five characters with the Ash option and it's pretty tough but I love it! I'll try doing a solo character run next and build back up to five characters.
So these eventually made their way to my side of the pond at the end of 2021. Picked one up for Christmas. Shevvie and I finally played some games of it yesterday. Really impressed with the character models. The Alien is surprisingly well detailed, all the artwork on the game components is gorgeous but I'm not sure about the game itself. The morale mechanic is interesting...but it just doesn't quite feel right. Doesn't quite feel Alien.
I've found it fun, but anything less than 4 crew members and it's too easy. I played solo with Parker a few times and couldn't lose.
Someone on Boardgamegeek has developed a hidden Alien movement bot programme so you don't know where the Alien is. Makes the game even more like the ZX Spectrum Alien game!

Lv427 are releasing 3d printer files for Nostromo which could be used for the game. Look very cool.
