After Ripley and Hicks have another adventure battling aliens, we're treated to this plot twist: They're both in a nursing home. The events of Alien 3, 4, and 5 were all in their heads as a result of PTSD and dementia.
INT. NURSING HOME - DAYRipley and Hicks sit in wheelchairs in front of a window with a beautiful view of a forrest. Birds can be heard chirping outside. A nurse approaches Ripley with a cup of pills and a tray of food.

NEWT (O.S.):
Get away from her you BITCH!
A overweight, middle-aged Newt stands in the doorway. The nurse leaves as Newt steps in to spoon-feed Ripley.
NEWT:
Come on, Ripley. You've gotta eat this.
RIPLEY:
(blankly staring off into space)
I risked my ass to save that little shit and she f**king drowned days later. What a waste of time.
Newt's eyes fill with tears. A loud fart emanates from Hicks. Newt throws the spoon on the ground and storms out.
Pull back from Ripley and Hicks sitting alone, waiting to die.
Behind them, the window flickers off and the birds cease chirping, as it was just a digital screen.
