I thought I'd start a new topic listing the extras as and when they appear on the BBFC rating system. I can update the post when things are updated, and of course they will be listed out of order from the final product but it's easier in general for everyone to keep track of for now :)

Thanks for this. Looks like a really good amount of features.
Though I think they need to work on their titles for a few :D "Sexburster" and "Weyland's Wet Dream", anyone?
"Gigeresque" should be interesting, and I'm very excited for "Demons in the Dark".
Quote* THE CASE OF THE FANFIC FAKE [2:24]
LMAO.
Oh god. The guy who authored Alien Harvest has truly made it.
I've still never read that, actually :P I kind of want to now, though... Some of the ideas, as odd and out there as they were, sounded at least a bit interesting.
I wish there was a cast commentary with Michael Fassbender, Noomi Rapace and Charlize Theron.
Sure, commentaries by casts are hardly ever as informative as those by writers and directors but it would still be interesting to hear their experiences and reactions to certain scenes.
Just don't pair up a cast member with a director and/or writer though. It hardly ever works and most of the time is spent complimenting one another. :P
I like all the extras. This is a definite buy on Blu ray for me. I'm a bit disappointed that there are no deleted scenes.

Same goes for "Chair Fetish" lol!
As great as this list of extras is (and they are great), I was desperately hoping for an extended cut. I plenty like the film as it is but I would have greatly appreciated a different edit (ala 'Alien 3'). It's hardly impossible to occur (given the ongoing BBFC rating system) but it is seemingly less and less likely to actually happen. Hmm... colour me unimpressed. It seems as though 'Prometheus' is just one quick edit shy of being upgraded from a 'good' film, to a 'great' film. Ho hum...
Any idea on which features won't make it to the DVD set?
A full commentary of Ridley Scott's rambling madness... oh god yes.

It's great news extras are being confirmed. I'm still amazed I've put together 2 DVDs (with 3rd one in the making) with TV specials & Promos that won't be released on this extensive set. Will be a great supplement though.
when i first saw the 'enhancement pod' section i thought that was meant to be deleted scenes ... lol sexburster scene
It was very difficult for me to sit through Prometheus twice at the theater. I won't be buying this because I know I won't be able to watch the film again. The extra features look cool for those who did like the movie however. Unfortunately, FOX will not find a buyer with me until they attempt to fix this film with an extended cut.
Hmm. TIME-LAPSE SEQUENCE: JUGGERNAUT .
How is this even possible? Don't they mean TIME-LAPSE SEQUENCE: TEMPLE?
From what i remember, they didn't build the Juggernaut as a set. They built the interior of the temple. Is that what this means? If it is, then there is a miscommunication somewhere.
* never mind on that note, i do remember them discussing how they redesigned the Juggernaut textures and such. This could be what they mean.

I would more likely think it to be the construction of the Engineer's pilots chair / hypersleep chambers room (seeming as it's included within the Juggernaut).
One of the featurettes had a time lapse sequence of the Engineer room and seat being constructed, so it will likely be this as you say :)

The director's said several times that he's happy with this version. Besides, for all we know, what was removed might have looked bad if reinserted into it.

Why? It's not like they'd lack for space. The Quadrilogy DVD set had tons of special features on them. Most of what ended up on the Blu-Rays was on there.

Ridley maybe happy with the version released in cinemas, but that doesn't mean that it's the best version out there. Prometheus could really benefit from an extended cut because the one released in cinemas was choppy and rushed in places.
I don't think that the scenes that were removed from Prometheus would look bad if reinserted back in. Ridley said, much like what he has said about Prometheus, that the version of Alien that was released in cinemas was his preferred version. However, I like the extended cut better. Reading what critics and fans have been saying, the same could also be said about Kingdom of Heaven and Gladiator.

The Quadrilogy set was released back in 2003. Come 2012, most special features are released on the Blu ray version of films. The most recent A/P/AvP film that was released, Predators, barely had any special features on the DVD version. All of them were on the Blu ray version.
What Blu rays are now to people was what DVDs were ten years ago. I doubt we'll get any special features on the DVD version of Prometheus.

Aye, it's incredibly dissapointing. I think I'll wait for the extended edition
EDIT: On the other hand, I AM curious to here ridley ramble :p
As much as I want a Director's Cut, I'm going to get this. I did like the film as it was, and to be honest, can't be bothered waiting years for a potential new cut.

I'm sorry, I don't understand this... What are you suggesting the
limiting factor would be? It's not like there wouldn't be enough space for lots of features. I'm not saying all of them, but a lot. The main point of Blu-Ray is meant to be higher definition, not an excuse to downgrade DVDs.
good amount of features. Hope they put in the deleted material still.

Almost 35 minutes of alternate/cut scenes, and they're not going to do an extended edition? :( Still really cool that we're going to get the scenes, though. Only one I'm a bit iffy about is the extended Shaw vs Engineer fight; I completely understand why Ridley wanted to cut that, and wouldn't have minded at all if he refused to let that one on the release.

That IS a lot of deleted material. Considering the final battle clocked in at 25 seconds in the theatrical cut I'm wondering how much Shaw + Axe versus Harvey "Two Face" Dent Engineer we could possibly watch.

Sex Scene!!!1!
Keep in mind some of the runtime for those deleted/alternate scenes maybe taken up by footage already in the film, providing context for the deleted material.
I hope that all these scenes are fully produced, no animatics.
For a second I thought one of the deleted scenes said "Janek Fills Vickers" and I thought "Oh God there's a sex scene here" and then I reread it and saw the rest of the title.
Kind of excited to see how the scenes play out.

Wow, I didn't notice that deleted section on my first glance!
I doubt we'll see anything homeworld related in that scene. Probably just an extended version of the ending.
Damn, that is a very long list of deleted scenes. Judging by the names though, there won't be that much to do in the way of improving the character development. I'm guessing that if you reinserted all of those scenes into the movie, you'd have something slightly more interesting but not interesting enough to change the film from bad to good.
I'm excited, sounds like a good amount of extras to go over.
Holy shit now I'm excited. Paradise huh? Does this mean a alternate ending? Engineer speaking on Blu Ray? Sweet

I don't think so. I think that it is just going to be the alternate version of Fifield's attack with Weyland present, as seen in the trailers that were shown before the movie was released.
Seeing that list of surprisingly lengthy deleted scenes gives me a bitter-sweet feeling. On the one hand, I'm relieved that the material will be included on the disc but on the other hand, it makes me all the sadder that we won't be getting an extended cut.
Hopefully, some kind person will put together a fan edit and post it online. Ideally though, I really had been hoping for an official extended cut.

Me too!
I can't remember what thread it was but there was a member on here saying there was more to the ending than what we got, something along the lines of Shaw and David actually arriving on the engineers homeworld which is very much like waterworld.
Would make sense as the filming in Spain went on for 3 months and I cant imagine the Weyland cut scene would take that long to do
i hope the deleted scenes are finished and not having the green screen in the background or time code on the bottom
I respect Ridley from a business standpoint, this movie needed to make a lot of money to keep the franchise alive, but to cut 35 minutes from the movie seems less than artistic. Of course Fox probably forced a cut to keep the run time down.
If you guys want a sex scene, I have a hunch 'Strange Bedfellows' could be your destination. It comes right before 'Holloway Hungover', which makes sense. Me, I'm looking forward to 'Paradise', in particular! :)
Are these going to be stand-alone deleted scenes in themselves, or just variations of existing scenes with minor changes, or a mix of both. i.e. engineer vs. shaw extended fight scene/paradise hint at being totally new, whereas others sound like they'd be pretty similar to what was in the theatrical cut.

Mixed. I'm sure a few of them are completely new scenes, but a lot seem to be extended/alternate variants as well.
I think the title "Alternate & Deleted Scenes" says it all :P
How much of these are "new" scenes (rather than variations) is unknown, but certainly some interesting titles there :)
Those deleted scenes look promissing and I'm especially looking forward to 'Paradise' (more hints to the the sequel?). Do you remember the times of VHS when we could only read about deleted scenes and never actually see any of those? Luckily, thanks to LaserDisc, DVD and now Blu-ray that is the the thing of past.

Seriously...? I better not be forced to buy a 3D edition of the film just to get bonus features...

I agree. The same thing happened with
Transformers: Dark of the Moon. Only the 3D edition of the film had the bonus features.
Sorry for cursing -- edit it mods if you must -- but f**kin A -- when I first looked at the Deleted Scenes -- I read it as "JANEK FILLS VICKERS" and I figured THAT debate is finally over!

FIFIELD ATTACKS
Hopefully this will be the WETA 'altered' Fifield with a more 'alien' look and the long limbs/claws.
I don't think so. I think that it is just going to be the alternate version of Fifield's attack with Weyland present, as seen in the trailers that were shown before the movie was released.
Fifield WAS altered with the head/limbs/claws in the trailers that were shown before the movie was released - it was a major WTF for those who had scrutinized the trailer and then realized that the creature was missing from the final cut of the film.

I know that the concept art showed a more Xenomorph-esque Fifield but the Fifield in the trailers looked just like one in the final movie.
Not in all. In one trailer it did have longer limbs and there was a nice comparison photo a while back during a discussion on this. People argued over whether or not it was a xeno and if the space suit armor was getting fused to the body biomechanically.

I did not know. Do you have access to the comparison photo? I would really to see it.
Okay, I can't find any comparison photos, sorry. So here's my own attempt:

It's hard to see but I swear, the proportions of the body are different. Original: long limbed and alien-like. Later on, it's much more human-like proportions, since it's actual Sean Harris rather than a digital beast.

I finally noticed the difference after seeing the first trailer seven times. Yeah, the right arm is definitely a lot more elongated than it appears in the final movie. But is that the only shot/pic that shows that Ridley may have changed Fifields' final design?
That and the fact that he came out and said that he changed the design. It originally looked like this:

But Ridley was unhappy with it and changed it to this:

It's just a guess. I think that the eariler design just looked too radically different from the human Fifield to the point that it becomes almost impossible to tell that they are one and the same. I also think that the second, more human Fifield, looks more scarier.
On the plus side, the eariler design of Fifields gives more of an idea of what the black goo was meant for.
I can see why he changed it from the point of view of someone who is pandering to over all pretty dense audiences. The CGI creature might be confusing to some as to it's origins. It's obvious to us, who have poured over these things like forensic scientists, but to the causal viewer?
I can also see why he might be inclined to use an actor because of the performance. Then again, we haven't seen this CGI monster in action. We don't know how well it emotes and if it comes off as a living, breathing creature on screen.
I will say this; if the alternate Fifield design is used for the deleted scene on the Blu-Ray, then I know which version of the attack sequence will be making its way into my fan-edit!
I'd have to see the alternate version before I make up my mind. I love the scrapped design, but the new one served its purpose as well.

So far, I prefer the new one, it looks a lot more scarier. However, I still want to see the scrapped design in action.
The older version looked better. Honestly the new version with the zombie make up and horrible editing thrown in just made the scene look hilarious with him going all rage-zombie and punching the shit out of people.
Looks like the BBFC have removed all the DVD/Blu-ray extras listings... so probably no more updates until the official announcement :(
Now this is the extra I'd like to see on blu-ray - making of documentary on Secret cinema's immersive, interactive installation type screenings of Prometheus...
