Between Star Trek and Star Wars i'd pick Star Wars. Star Trek, as a whole, seemed pretty boring. Place I found it cheesey and not very creative.

Star Trek is like a pirate tale in space. A spaceship with a crew exploring deep space rather than the ocean. It's more adventurous per se. Where as Star Wars is more character driven due to the film constraints, (six sequels to the story).

I think each franchise has something unique to offer.
