I love his performance as Jason.

Hopefully he studied the Predator character just as much as he did with Jason to give the right performance. He certainly is very passionate at what he does.
I think he'll do just fine. The only issue is his hieght, but I'm sure KNB will make him look good.

I managed to find this letter from Troublemaker Studios:

Dear Neighborhood Residents,

Next week we will be filming scenes for the upcoming motion picture Predators, directed by Nimrod Antal and produced by Austin filmmaker Robert Rodriguez.

On November 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th we will be shooting behind Troublemaker Studios located at 4900 Old Manor Rd. The movie has a heavy emphasis on special effects, so we thought it important to notify all of the residents in the area that you may hear small explosions or gunfire from 7am up until 7pm, on any of the proceeding days mentioned.

We will of course be working closely with the Austin Fire and Police Departments as safety is our paramount concern.

Sincerely,

Logan Cooper

A partnership with whom, who else is producing this movie?

Whats what I'm wondering.

If Rodriguez wants to own the franchise, why doesn't he buy the damn rights?

Where is there any suggestion RR wants to own the franchise?

Because FOX is not stupid enough to sell them.

I don't know.

Something of a trend I noticed in Hollywood is that people are buying out franchises. Pisses me off. I just see 2010 being the year of remakes, reboots and whatever.

Seriously, I haven't heard such a thing called Predator Planet Films until today and I guess it just set off a fuse.

Sorry.

Troublemaker and Fox I imagine.

Why?  It's perfectly normal practice to setup a limited partnership when making a movie.  Just been reading about it in a Lloyd Kaufman's 'Make Your Own Damn Movie'.  The Blade Runner Partnership is another example.

IMDB lists only Robert Rodriguez and his  ex-wife Elizabeth Avellan. She's co produced a lot of his films, and I don't know if she is officially involved with Trouble Maker so perhaps this Predator Planet Inc is just a title for their professional partnership? IMDB doesn't mention FOX, but they own the rights so maybe they are also involved with this limited partnership.

You need to get out more. "Set off a fuse"? The f**k?

As SM said, it's a limited partnership, and if this one is successful, I believe they want to make a couple more, though that is ultimately up to Fox if they want to involve Troublemaker Studios.
