Quote from: cliffhanger on Mar 11, 2017, 09:57:18 PMwhy are there no animals in prometheus? makes no sense.....similar to the rest of the movies.
The rest of the movies had no animals (pets aside) because they were set on either "The Shitiest Moon" (426), "The Shitiest Planet" (161) or "The Shitiest Spaceship" (USMRV118).
Prometheus was set on "The Slightly Less Shitty" moon (223), and it was made clear in the film that it couldn't support lifeforms that were killed by CO2 (eg. all lifeforms).
Alien Covenant is set on a "This Is Just Like Earth" planet. Huge forests, precipitation, waterfalls; if you have an earth-like forest, you have an earth-like ecosystem. Nothing evolves in a vacuum. So where did the animals go? Were they eaten by the aliens? Appropriated by the spores?
Quotei'm curious on why there would need to be animals to make sense to an alien movie.
Alien movie or not, the new setting begs the question; what happened to the animals? The birds? Were they eaten, made into hosts..or did they get goo on them and vanish into the realm of lazy science fiction?
QuoteWell, they are either Engineers or creations of theirs who have either been annihilated by David dropping the black goo on them or they've been fried by lightning!
