We don't see it for long, we just see it start spilling out. My guess is that predator blood slows the effects probably 2x decreased rate of the acid eroding the body. We see in Wolfs face as barely noticeable. And for that much area to be damaged it would have to at least be a large spray of acid.

It's odd that people like to use the Pred DNA as a reason why the acid blood wasn't effective, yet all is silent when the same theory is applied to the Predalien's reproduction method.

Because the preproduction method is new, the preds resistance to acid is evident in comics.

No it isn't. Besides which, what happens in the comics don't mean jack.

QuoteThe whole derelict scene ruins the mystery and Ripley's daughter makes Ripley's relationship with Newt seem hollow.

"See you Hicks" *gag*

None of the reinserted footage adds anything new to Aliens.  It just reinforces what already present.

It wasn;t just the predaliens blood that seemed ineffective at the end of the movie, it was all the aliens, and Colin explained why. It has nothing to do with preds being resistant to it (which we saw in AvP the weren't), and if the preds blood did neutralize it it would do as much damage to things because it would have to be a strong base.

and I don't care what the comics say, as they are non-canon.

Yes, Wolf's arm should have melted away (if nothing else he should have been burned when he rammed his wrist blades up through Chet's head... but nothing), just like the windshield and nose of the helicopter should have been damaged when Kelly shot the alien, just like the alien Wolf cut in to pieces with the whip should have melted through the roof of the hospital, just like there should have been deep pitting at the edge of the pool where Wolf killed the alien.  The alien's blood was only corrosive when it was convenient to the VFX and budget of the film - which Colin even verified here in the forums.

I agree... it was a hit and miss. Sometimes they showed the Alien had acid for blood and sometimes completely ignored it in AvP:R

Ugh... that movie was garbage lol
