AvPGalaxy is relaunching Game Night! Those of you who have been here for a while may remember when we had a regularly scheduled multiplayer game night. This started with 2010's Aliens Vs. Predator and continued with Aliens: Colonial Marines.
AvPGalaxy has a long history with gaming as we originally launched in 2002 around the time of Monolith's AvP2. Thanks to the Master Server Patch, AvP2's servers are currently up and running and we definitely plan on including it with these events going forward. You will find the instructions for how to install the Master Server Patch in its thread.
Currently, we will be scheduling events for Aliens Vs. Predator: Classic 2000, Aliens Vs. Predator 2, Aliens Vs. Predator (2010), and yes, even Aliens: Colonial Marines.
These events will be scheduled for PC users and with the exception of AVP2, we will be connecting through Steam. Be sure to join our AvPGalaxy Steam Group (https://steamcommunity.com/groups/avpgalaxy) to keep informed about what is coming up.
We realize not everyone games on PC, so if anyone would like to set up an Xbox 360 or PS3 game night for Aliens Vs. Predator (2010) and Aliens: Colonial Marines, feel free to coordinate for those in the Forum.
Our first game night will be scheduled for Sunday, June 4th, at 7pm GMT (Currently BST). Going forward we will be having these nights twice a month, on the first and third Sundays. For our first game night, we will be playing Aliens vs. Predator (2010), following that will be Aliens: Colonial Marines, the same time on June 18th, then AvP2 on July 2nd, followed by Aliens Vs. Predator Classic 2000 on July 23rd. We'll cycle back to Aliens Vs. Predator (2010) on August 6th.
Also, we've recently launched an official AvPGalaxy Discord Channel (https://discord.gg/NSaGx6U). We will be using this for voice chat in game, as well as text chat.
We look forward to seeing you on the virtual battleground!

I played some AVP2 in the game nights (when was the last one? hah) a couple or years ago. So, I will probably join the AVP 2010 event on the 4th of June to own some pros. ;)
I'm totally down. The few ACM games I was able to play on Xbox with some of the members here were a lot of fun.
It's been a few months since I've played ACM or AVP2010 so I'll have to get used to the controls again. Is Bug Hunt an option for ACM?
I think I still have AVP2 installed, but I actually haven't played that much at all so that'll be a learning experience :laugh:

It'd depend on the numbers. What we used to do was when the numbers dwindled as the night came to a close, we'd do Bug Hunt or Skirmish.
Sounds good to me. Since it ends up being 3:00 pm on Sundays for me I'll have no problem showing up most of the time.

Is there a club on Xbox One for AVPGalaxy? It could set up events for all manner of related games for the people who'd be on there before switching to 360 to play. Could even have live streams of Isolation from anyone who wants to.
Also: definitely vote on this if you want to see AVP 2010 backwards compatible. Since it's on the Xbox site, it's probably the best resource to get to them. Alarmingly, there's already so many votes over a 2 year period and they've done nothing.

Yeah I'd wait for the summer sale, ACM will probably go for dirt cheap, and it's multiplayer is worth it.
ACM's mp is actually pretty sweet...
Miss all those nights playing AVP2 mulitplayer - no Alien-game will ever deliver that kind of atmosphere and experience in mulitplayer...so many nostalgic feelings right now ::) Thank god that we can still play it with the patch :)

I have AVP Classic, and AVP 2010 is pretty cheap on Steam by video game standards. If I can get that one working, I'll see if I can jump in. One question, though: since I bought Classic on GoG, will I still be able to play along? Not really sure how the MP works lol.

I am Halogen cz on Xbox Live, I still have both AVP and A:CM. I love those games, hope they made them backward compatible for Xbox One one day. There is a huge amount of players (more than 10000 active fans) that wants both AVP and A:CM to be backward compatible, there is even a petition for that. I still dont understand why Microsoft with the release of the actual Alien Covenant dont do anything usefull with these games. Such a perfect games. . different than any generic first-person shooter games at this times, and still they do nothing for it, shame.

Just tested my wireless connection on my Xbox 360 hit me up: MachoOpossum34. Got avp and acm.
For a moment I thought I was gonna miss this one but it seems I'll have some time to sharpen my blades in AvP 2010. Still a rookie - finished those campaigns and called it a day. Might reinstall AvP 2 and try a few addons as well but can't guarantee.
I've had a fair share of experiences with Lucifer kicking my ass. I wonder how it'll be with this one. :D
How do we plan to do AVP2? Through our own dedicated server with password would be ideal as there are a few players currently using aimbots and other cheating methods to ruin our day.

talking about avp2 I spoke a liltle with sonicfox, we could soon use stargate servers.
For now is avanable only the evac server human vs alien (with the new ms)
There are some stability and configuration issues that I hope will be resolved as soon as possible

It would also be possible to consider merge a fusion maybe but for this you should speak directly with the administrator of the old stargate.

I think it would be enough just to have one server always active just to start.
Regardless of the last server slide created by rommie makes life very difficult for cheters

We just put up our life cycle server. As of right now it appears to be stable. If all goes well, we will keep this server configuration and put up thr rest of the servers this weekend ( including the 2.0 Server).
I'm glad you posted here actually! If I remember rightly, last time we did a couple of game nights on AvP2 your clan kindly allowed us to use your servers to run the nights. Would SGC be willing to do the same again now?

I missed the first one :'( I got caught up in Rising Storm 2 and totally forgot...
I literally just spent hours for the first time in well over 10 years. playing AVP2 online once again with just around 6-7 randoms on the only populated server after finding my old AVP2 box in storage and searching online if there was still a way to play even though i know sierra shut down the servers years ago..
This is literally the most amazing and cherished moment in my gaming life right now and then for luck of old nostalgic habits i come here to see what this place has been up to and to VERY VERY much excitement theres a date for AVP2 matches 8)
Side note: i noticed SG-2 life cycle is still alive! please if any of you remember that server is Pulse still around in that clan?

Certainly avp2 in a lan has its charm but it is easier to participate in a dedicated server.

Aside from 2010 night, I can't say there was massive turnout for this unfortunately. We'll try doing another run-through of events starting September and see if we can do any better this time around.

So due to the low turnout we're cancelling the regularly scheduled game nights. Unfortunately it seems the interest simply isn't present and likely wont be until we have another game on the horizon. We're not completely abandoning the games though, as we'll still try to set up some occasional events with folks. We're also looking to get some AvPGalaxy servers set up for AVP2 and AVP (2010).

It's a shame we've had to do this but I get bored sitting waiting for folk or people just disappearing. I'm still playing, though. I've been playing 2010 more recently and really enjoying it. Thankfully we can still drop into a server more often than not. Like RidgeTop says, we're also looking at getting some servers setup for the site which'll be cool.

On AVP2010 there is always at least one room with people playing, in the social/custom matches, not ranked. ACM matchmaking have always been broken, you can't find other players no matter what, so the only option is making parties/invite.

No, I just have it for PC and xbox360, on the xbox both games seem pretty much dead, the ACM matchmaking works on xbox and used to be easy to play online but now there is not much people left to who play the game. I believe in the ps3 is kind of the same.
