Outland is about the only one that I see as feeling like it belongs in the Alien universe - could easily be Thedus rather than Io. The music, the design and the cinematography all help to convey that grungy working environment that is a natural progression of the what was suggested aboard the Nostromo - the fact that it's about company exploitation via drugs also helps to ground it in an expanded reality the way that other sci fi films, by their fantastical nature, don't.

Beyond that, just because stacks of films have been visually influenced by Alien doesn't mean they connect.

I must say that I'm somewhere along the same lines as Gash on this one. Always liked Outland despite it not being a great movie (it's not a bad movie either mind you)

Outland was the only one that felt as real to me as Alien did.

I like Outland quite a bit. It's got plenty of atmosphere and I always thought it had some really memorable moments.

Local Trouble

Even the gore seemed very Alien-like.

The Thing could fit in with any of those series'. Nice and contained (even if you include the prequel film and game sequel).

livin_target

I reckon we could fit in "Pride and Prejudice" somewhere too.

*Ahem*

This is silly...

Like E.T, Star Wars and Star Trek being connected because E.T's species is in Episode 1, and R2D2 is seen in Star Trek (2009)

Ludicrous.

So are E.T. and SW: Ep I canon? ;D

Nightmare Asylum

Of course they are. And Elliot's Star Wars toys are actually models of famous people who lived a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.

Don't forget, the first Indiana Jones has hyerogliphs of R2D2 and C3PO.
