That, or a concept marquette. It looks handmade, not something mass-produced.

At the time, the MPC Alien model kit was produced. It was smaller and less accurate than what Giger's holding.

I wonder if it's fan made? The details aren't very accurate, especially around the legs.

Perhaps a marquette made by Giger / the art department during production? If so, it's the first time I've ever seen it.

Always loved this one. Rewatching the Jodorowsky's Dune documentary a few days ago was such a gut punch when it reminded me just how much I missed hearing Giger talk about his work. That one was shot pretty much right before he passed too, I believe.
