just installed avp2 plus update and new patch but can't seem to get the online working.
when I press multiplayer it says its checking for a new version then comes up saying that 'Failed version check' there maybe a problem with our verification servers.
and claims there and error and to check I'm connected to the internet.
Anyone here had it working yet?
Only thing I didnt do was install primal hunt so will try that now.........
right scratch that just seen it doesnt work with PH so not doing that. Anyone any idea? I instsalled avp2, then 1.0.9.6 update then the master patch but no luck.

Make sure AVP2 is fully installed.
Then install MSP 2.4
it should be fine. no such thing as version checking failed (unless you run the older msp 2.3.3 or 2.3.4 )
AVP2 PRIMAL HUNT ISN'T ONLINE (there are reports that it is) but TRUE PH isn't online.

True msp support on mac isn't possible.
There is a windows port via wine that will work on mac and linux but uses older msp 2.3.4
We'll get a port soon. ;)

AVP2 will never die. No other alien-predator material came to its level since its release. Good to see the great work you guys keep doing.

No problem! just make sure you are updated ONLY on 2.4 any version lower is no longer supported by TBBC.
as it's a required update.

I got it to work, turns out the firewall on the works computers wouldnt allow me to play it at work lol.
Single player works ok on my work pc so going to play through it when I can at work, got home and installed the patch and it works online fine.
This game is just as quick as I remember it only I'm now slower at playing lol. I used to be pretty awesome as a Predator back in 2004/2005 but I'm rusty now. Was so good playing it again though, I look forward to playing some of you soon
Been having more troubles unfortunately. If I can get it to install, it's a gamble if it'll launch or not. And if I need to uninstall it to try again, registry files get stuck on the system preventing another reinstall.

Luckily I think I was able to clear all traces of it from my system with a system restore, I want to try another install but the ordeal got me nervous.
Just so frustrating, especially with the care that's gone into keeping this thing alive. Just seems to keep clashing with Windows 10. I really wish we'd just get a re-release that's optimized for modern systems already.

Try the AIO but it's the same as from DISK.. lol
Could be something blocking the install perhaps then it borks into an error.
Are the servers hosted UK or US? or somewhere else?

Had a good time playing on the Gravel Pit server last night, there were only about 4 of us at most a match, but it was awesome to play against skilled people and switch it up between races if things get slow or jump into the exo and blow everything apart. hahaha It's great this game is a thing again, it's MP is unmatched in difficulty and it always had a good player base for it; all besides the stray streaking Dunya hack raining rockets that just pissed everybody off. :laugh: Yeah, I'll be coming around much more often now that I've warmed up a bit.

Great to hear it dude! you should join the official avp2 community discord sometime! all known server admins are there (including gravel pit admin) we got a stable/community after some time now.

Thank you so much for this post. AVP2 is still the best Alien game in my opinion. Unfortunately, my Primal Hunt game does something pretty annoying: All the cutscenes with the dialogues are cut abruptly and you don't hear the characters end their sentences. It's like they start talking and after a second it cuts to the next sentence. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Update: Never mind, i fixed it using Nvidia inspector and capping my framerate to 60fps. Now the dialouges are smooth and they end their sentences.

Well there is a console/cmd now in the msp. where you can disable/enable a lot of things.
Look in your avp2 directory and search for readme_console.txt :)

There was a big game recently.
I think I did. I downloaded it from your post and from the site. My game DOES say Master Server Patch v2.4 and when I que servers it says there are at least 50 while queing but then it says it couldn't find any.

Change the filters on the server list?
