I enjoy seeing the dude on the debriefing panel working what looks like a crossword puzzle (or some such thing) while the drama pans out.  As the scene opens, the camera moves frame right behind Van Leeuwen. Watch it as the camera continues on around the table behind this guy and over his shoulder and you will see it...





Looks like more proof they were just going through the motions.

One guy does look like he's sleeping or just tuning out for a bit.

Yes, it looks like everyone had already made up their minds before she even entered the room.

The unfortunate crew members are overshadowed by the Nostromo's (and refinery platform's) loss.

To be fair, this was the equivalent of discussing what happened to a ship in World War II in 1986.
