seems a pretty normal line , the right thing to say on that situation by anyone

however , this line is a classical P1 quote , so don't make any diference in AVP R .... Dallas is not a tough guy like Dutch ....

Considering the fact it was supposed to be a homage, which makes you remember the fantastic way in which Ah-nold delivered it, it just pales in comparison. Nothing special about the line itself, it's more about who delivers it, and in this area Arnie has no competition, anybody elses attempts are simply meaningless.

It stuck out like a sore thumb. I winced when he said it, like when somebody fakes you out.

I voted ok, although I think instead of that they should've used "Your one UGLY motherf***er!" as it's a trademark line and should be in every Predator and Alien Vs. Predator film. To have it in AvP and not even say the full line and not have it in AvPR is stupid. Well I think so anyway. Who agrees?

No.

And on to the flat out stupid line, get to the chopper...
Horrible.

Honestly, the T-800 could say it with feeling.

Is it me or the way the clip is edited... but when he says "Get to the chopper!" isn't the chopper literally 5 feet behind them?

Anyway didn't like the delivery at all, it's getting to the point where a good 1/3 of the material I've seen is some kind of reference or homage to the previous movies.  I'm begining to ask myself how much of this film is actually going to be original material.

To be honest, I didn't even notice it the 1st time I watched it, it was only after everyone started complaining about it that I went back and watched.  It was an allright line, it wasn't supposed to be a big cool line like when Arnie said it, it was just a line.
Title: Re: get to the chopper line

It still is a Predator line, but i guess that it sounds cooler from Arnie's mouth. ;)

I hope this film has more original material going for it than the Predalien, the Predator's mask, and the teens. From what I gather, the film's turning out to be "Aliens meets Predator 2." Considering they wanted to have OWLF's crew from Predator 2, it only makes my dismay stronger.

As for the line: it was iconic because Arnold has that thick accent to work with. It's just not the same when you drop it into the middle of the script.

Probably cuz they wasn't in such a big hurry.
I am beginning to think that you guys are going to say that this line from Predator will be ruinded like "You are one ugly motherf**ker" in AvP 1. :-\
Title: Re: get to the chopper line
Post by: xenopred66 on Dec 22, 2007, 08:58:47 PM
two acceptable ways of doing a homage line.

1.  over the top 'GET TO DA CHOPPA!!!!!!!!'

2. subtle like a lesser known line from predator 2. maybe one of keye's lines.

Post by: darcevil on Dec 22, 2007, 11:24:29 PM
There was no way to put the line in anywhere and satisfy anyone.

-He executed the line bad
-not enough feeling
-it's not the same as arnie
-he's too skinny to say it
-he said it too fast
-he said it too slow
-he said it too quiet
-he said it too loud
-he said it too early
-he said it too late
-it's an alien movie too, so it doesn't count
-I hate that line

It was one line that they didn't expect to become so popular, you can't replicate it. ::)

How about they try and create their own priceless line, instead of relying on the old films for material? I nearly puked during the first AvP when 'Ugly mother' was used, twice.

At least the way the line's used isn't in a cheesy way, like in AVP - "You're one ugly mother...CLUNK!!!!".

I'm sick of one liners, anyway.  The only movie of the series not to have one-liners is Alien, and that movie was the most realistic of the saga.
