SiL, I'm not going to continue this petty and pointless little argument with you. The mods already have a big enough mess to clean up.

If you wish to debate Blade Runner then do it on the Blade Runner thread.

I really hope you learn to detach your sense of worth from what other people think of things you like. This is incredibly unhealthy, antisocial behaviour.

When you're ready to engage with people with different perspectives in a mature and respectful way I'll be glad to continue.

Mike’s Monsters

We should really be trying to fix this planet, before we try to move onto another to destroy. He could really help with that too, but he's took focused on sounding cool on the internet.

Crazy Rich

Do you wonder if Elon Musk just wants to take a bunch of people of Mars to just go out like this guy.

I think Elon Musk should kill all mankind (without exception ☝) and establish a colony on the deadly red planet, with human embryos to be raised by androids.

The time and money it will take to establish a colony on Mars could achieve reducing man made climate change to a controllable and non catastrophic level.

Then we could go exploring.

Local Trouble

I'd rather live in Antarctica than on Mars.  As harsh and desolate as Antarctica is, at least you can breathe the atmosphere, water is abundant and you might even be able to survive on the local wildlife.  Not to mention Antarctica has the benefit of normal gravity and a protective magnetosphere.

Mars is a pipe dream if we're talking about mass colonization.  At least in the near-term (the next century or two).

SiL

But Musk will get someone there soon he said?

Crazy Rich

How would we even deal with the unsafe levels of radiation involved in taking a trip to Mars anytime soon?

He certainly might.  That doesn't mean anyone will be able to live there indefinitely.  The Apollo program was cool too, but it didn't colonize the moon.

Getting to Mars will be a classic example of our reach exceeding our grasp.

One great filter at a time Mr Musk. First climate change, then Mars 🙈

Mars is already destroyed.

Yer look man. Not sure about Antartica as we all know there is a ancient pyramid buried under the ice used for hunting grounds.

When you think about it we'd just be moving from bad planet to worse planet.
