Yes, that’s right. Thanks to a thread in the forum, I’ve finally discovered some new conceptual artwork for Alien vs Predator including the PredAlien (or the PredAlien Chestburster). For further information, you can check out Tatopoulos Studios and look through the flash until you get to the Alien vs Predator section. But for now, you can check out the seven conceptual artworks on the next page.

“Patrick had originally been asked for production design this film, but eventually had to pass on it because of his commitment to I, Robot. Patrick worked early with Director Paul Anderson to present concept designs for the film’s environments to 20th Century Fox, which helped green-light the project.”

Yes, someone my parents know saw a prewiew screening of Riddick, he said the trailer was attached to it, he said (and this is a guy who thought this movie will suck) that the trailer was the best trailer he had seen this year, he said it had the queen and everything and was awesome!  also i think that is the art of a predalien chestburster not an adult.

That picture is a chestburster.  I have the full sized images of these pics (these pics here are missing a lot on the sides), and the Predalien burster pic is lot bigger than what you see here.  It's coiled up out of something's chest with slimey stuff trailing off of it's base and tail.  Pretty sweet.  Anyone want it?

It's okay, I sent it to you already.  Just for other's info, if you go to this guy's site, it's under projects then conceptual artwork.  Click on the images to get the full picture.  You can't directly save them to your computer, but there's a trick around that I always use.

no problem  I like how they did the burster a lot, but some of the other pics are pretty interesting, too.  Particularly the queen chasing the main characters across the icey ground with her brood behind her.  I don't know how the movie will turn out, but I can't imagine how a scene like that couldn't be done right.  The other pic with the Queen dangling from the chains is pretty creepy, but feels very cinematic.  Almost feel bad for the queen though, it looks really degrading.  I can't wait to see how Anderson works this.     :)

Looks like paul is going back to the original chestburster instead of cameron's. cameron had little arms on his chestburster. the original doesn't.

That last queen one is chained up almost exactly like my fan art picture i drew, I guess great minds think alike also if darkness or whoever posts the pics would put up MY predalien picture a sent him yesterday they also look pretty close to what there going for.   ;)

Actually, even the original chestburster had arms, but they were really only a couple of little stubs.  There's several pics out there where you can see them, but it's most obvious in the screencap used for the Chestburster character card in the AvP card game.  You can see that at www.alienspredator.com

In the US, Riddik is set to be released a week from this upcoming Friday.  Not sure what the release date is for other countries, but I think it's about the same.

MAN!!!!!!!!!!!! Can`t wait till Riddick gets out!!! I really think that Riddick will make alot of $$$$$$ just because of that lil traila!!! they won`t know whats going on they will think that they just made a very good movie(wich maybe the case   ???  who know!) as for that lil fella the chestbusta   8)  He is just awsome!! better the body than just the face    ;D   and now I just want to see that lil fella full grown!!!    :-\     ???     8)     ;D

By the way how many preds a queen can take down? Like I Hope that that pred don`t think he can take on that queen alone (poor fella    :-\     :-\  )Or maybe that is the final scene    ???   the pred just activate his BIGBADABINGBAMBOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! of his   ;D  and just kill everybody! and what the hell!! I think it's possible a Pred can take down a queen if he's good enough, but the chances are stacked against him.  Not sure how it will turn out in the movie.  And that picture of Lex shows the alien dome-head attached to her arm as a shield.  In the picture here the artist literally has the entire head attached instead.

I just hope that the queen will have more chains on her in the movie cuz I don`t think that these chains(about 9 or so) are enough to contain a 5 meters father f**ker like the queen(know what I mean?   >:D  )

Really cool concept pics especially with the queen.  I hope the trailer is with The Chronicles of Riddick and if not some people will be mad.  Also the second concept pic we already seen, but still cool.  I guess I'll check the full chestbuster pic too.

By the way I just taught to something    ;D   how will Lex use that head: just as a shield or (this following is just a taught) as a piston like weapon!! yeah I see this know the elder pred is caught up with an alien then the alien (god knows how) is able to sneek on to the pred then ready itself to deliver the killing blow but then Lex appear and save (god knows how) the pred`s life. After that the elder kills the alien by cutting his head off and since Lex saved his life the pred just give her the head and show her how to use it as a weapon by placing her hand a certain way to activate THE KILLA TONGUE!! How COOL is that!!   ;D     ;D  ( I was born to be a writter I know   :)  ) and by the way A SINGLE PRED AS GOOD AS HE COULD BE WOULD NEVER BE ABLE TO DEFEAT A QUEEN!!!!!!!   >:D     >:D     >:D

yeah beeko is right! so instead of waiting for riddick we could all see that trailer before time. The only problem with this is I think that trailer gets out only 1-3 days on the net before getting out in theatres so we still have ALOT to wait before seing that traila.  I also think that Fox should get that traila fast to get peoples eXcited about the movie cuz there is still alot of ppl who dont even know about this AVP!!!!!!! thing and I want to see a sequel with Cameron on it and Arnold in it (that would be cool and it would make sense!) but for that we need big money= alot of ppl!

Actually, if you look closely at the pics of the chained queen, you can see the vapor pool beneath her.  The chains are pooling her out of it.

Ahh, interesting.  Stasis vat kind of thing going on.  I wonder if that stasis mist is anything like what was in Alien.

It is a predalien chestburster if it was a adult it would be more mature looking in detal in color and looks it wold also have a full grown crest and so on like the others.

I don't think they will show a full grown Pred Alien in this movie the Pred chestburster will probaly die after the predator gives birth to it maybe giving the audience a few screen shots of the pred Alien chestburster shreeking from the Predators chest cavity then the Predator will probaly self destructing him self knowing he is doomed

Alex Villalobos, if you check my earlier post I point out that if you look at the full picture from that image you can see the burster coiling up out of something's chest.  Bishop, you know, you may be right.  I wouldn't be suprised if that's how it's done in the movie, which would be a bummer since I really wanted to see a full-grown hybrid hunting the main Pred as sort of a role reversal.  That would really make for an interesting twist for the "hunters".

  :-\   The main Predator helping out Lex is Probably the one with the Pred Alien I smell an Alien 3 flash back but instead of Ellen Ripley we have a Predator sacrificing him self to save the humans race

That is bloody awesome I gotta say, now ppl cant say this movie will suck, just look at the predalien chestburster!

I don't know, seems a lot of the "hardcore" fans are ready to jump ship and say this entire franchise dead finally with the appearance of the hybrid.  I've been a huge fan since the very first movie, and with the except of the Newborn from Resurrection, I can't see what the fuss is about concerning this thing.  I rather like the idea and can't wait to see the thing on screen.  But like I said, many fans are seeing this predburster pic now and saying that it's the worst thing to happen to our planet since WWII...      ???  

*sigh*  It's definitely getting too late to type correctly.  I'm just saying that I've been with this series since the beginning, and with the exception of the Newborn from Resurrection, I can't understand why so many other fans freak when someone wants to expand on the alien mythos some.  The idea of hybrids, in my opinion, is hardly something that will ruin the franchise.  It's an intriguing aspect of their life cycle, especially if changes to the aliens are subtle.    Best thing to do, as with any other big movie, is to enjoy it on your own terms and not let what other people say get in the way of what you think of it.  Still, it does bother me how much some people overreact to this kind of thing.  It's definitely nothing like the abomination that was the Newborn.

(yawn) this is ild news to me, if any of you play avp 2, the predalien looks 95% alike in the game...  also, the queen is TOO HUGE! it looks like it can swallow 3 people at a time!!!

Color-wise it looks like the one from AvP2, but I'm hoping it has much more of the typical alien body than that one had.  I want to see the ribs and vertebrae and all, kind of like the one from the comic AvP: Duel, but hopefully without the dreadlocks.  Also, the Queen is gigantic, but notice also that the artwork shows the queen without the smaller set of arms in any of the pictures.  We know she has those smaller arms because of that split second clip of her in the 3rd featurette.  I'm guessing that the artist took some creative license which Anderson doesn't include in the movie (in order to stay truer to what we've seen before).  In which case, I'm sure the Queen will be the right size.     ;)  

that'd be awesome for the final battle it breaks out of the pyramid and onto the frozen planes.Imagine,the predator standing there with his spear ready with the queen alien racing at him and the predator's wrist blades slide out and charges it.AWESOME!   ;D

I have not posted here yet, all I would like to say is I have checked out this site every once in a while when I can use a net conection.  I have been both an Alien and Predator fan since I was 10 years old. Now sadly I will most likey not see AVP in theaters, the way I should see it, I will have to wait for the DVD as I am currently an 11B in Iraq.   I still  got about 11 months of my tour, and because I am not married I am on the back burner for leave schedule, every one else wants to take leave august september. I might not even get leave.

I didn't look through the whole forum, but If you look on www.planetavp.com... you'll see that that pic is just the head detail of the predalien CHESTBURSTER, not the adult predalien.

To predmike well we all think that there is going to be a predalien chestbusta in the movie but the predalien itself is not a confirmation yet. suppositions;  1- chestbusta appear and get killed no long after 2- chestbusta appear at the end of the movie in a Freddy vs Jason ( what a dumb movie) look alike end. 3-  chestbusta appear and live long enough to become a predalien wich could be interesting to see if the predalien is well done. 4-  the chestbusta gets out and we dont see him till the end of the movie to set up a sequel   ???

Why can't the movie come out sooner. I heard it was already done.

Even if its done ! Fox wont release it sooner  becuz  250 000 000 fans are asking for it ! they will push that CANNOT WAIT ANYMORE !!!   anticipation to a max to make more $$$ ! that way they will make a sequel to AVP, ALIENS and PREDATOR !!  so be patient my friend. it will be very fun to see all of those movies!

I'm sure they *are* done shooting the movie, but it takes several months to complete the special effects sequences and the editing of all the footage.  Not to mention sound and lighting effects, voice-dubbing, etc.  There's always a lot that goes on after principal photography is complete, and that's what's going on with AvP right now.

  :-\   Predalien, but how the Predators don't have a Bio-Lab and if so they don't want tu humiliate theirselfs with creating that!

Alien Emperor, the predalien is created when an alien develops inside of a predator and takes on its hosts characterists, ala the "dog alien" from Alien 3.  It's not created through genetic tampering from 3rd parties, even though some games and comics say this is the only way it's done.

uh....no, Galmorzu, all the games i played show that PREDALIEN come from a FACEHUGGER hugged a PREDATOR!!!  PS: i dont't read comics, i read mangas.

Aliminator:  Actually hybrids were mentioned as results of genetic tampering to some extent in Extinction, even though they also came about naturally, and there have been several other games that bring this up I think.  Comics like Aliens: Rogue also say that this comes about through genetic manipulation, also.  Either way, notice how I said "some" comics and games, not all.     ;)    Also, don't start badmouthing Harry Potter.  From experience most people who start spouting that it's just a silly kid's movie haven't seen it for themselves.  And it's far from a bad movie.  The series has more or less received rave reviews for each installment, and deals with some very adult issues.  It's not a kid's movie, it just happens to be a fantasy story with kids in it.  They're not for everyone, but they are good enough for any age to enjoy.  It just so happens that the latest one is better than most of the junk that came out from studios this year.  Bringer of Death:  Thank you     :)    I'm not trying to badmouth or put anyone down, I'm just saying is all.  Take care everyone, and enjoy the weekend.

But I`m with 187 on this, dont say everybody is wrong because you say they are and you saw it in the games. Cuz they are not good sources ( this stands for comics to). The movies are. and any opinion on this forum will be revealed true or false by AvP.

And the artist didn't include the two smaller arms on those queen pics either, which we know made it into the movie, so don't let the size get to you.  If anything, maybe the queen is bigger but at this point that might be chalked up to age.

Galmorzu you got a point there. THE AGE !!! thats why the queen is bigger! and thats why the aliens are bigger to. they were in there a long time so MAYBE and thats only a MAYBE the aliens reaches their adult form and after a big while they grow even larger. Well not that larger but the queen could grow more.

It's only a guess on my part because we have no idea how long an alien lives for.  As for the warriors in the movie, from what I've heard it's only the Queen in stasis, the rest of the aliens come from the various humans that go to the pyramid.  The warriors are naturally quite large, about 7 feet tall I think is what they've been in past movies.  It's just hard to tell when they're crawling or hunched over.

Since you guys r talkin about the huge size of the queen dipicted in the concept art I believe the original Gigers Alien was 8 feet tall and have any of you read the comic - Aliens :Apocalyps -destroying angels ? in it they show an alien that has burst out of one of the SPace Jockey aliens and it is just HUGE, way bigger than a queen but still has the normal alien characteristics but when I saw that I thought it was freakin cool as hell.Also I drew up my own Predalien if you guys want to check that bad boy out.Darkness has a link in the first comments section, the " concept art removed one " or you can use this link here..........  http://avpgalaxy.t35.com/gallery   also if you go to the MIXED alien vs Pred lin at the bottom you'll see another new one I did of an avp battle.Both pics r the 1st ones on each page.

I have a scanned pic of that Space Jockey Alien going beserk on a bunch of normal aliens.  A kind of interesting design, not sure what I think of it, though.  I personally liked those strange aquatic aliens from Colonial Marines more.  Those looked great.     ;)  

Man Bringer you got alot of talent! Your almost as good as me    ;D     ;D   I love your predalien man ! the head is a bit too much like the one of a normal alien to me but your damn good ! I would send my drawnings to Darkness to if my computer had what it takes.( but these things are expensive and I have to pay for everything on my computer) but anyway mine had a bit larger head, no dreads and the front of the head was bit larger.  And for the size part, the alien is suppos to be 8 to 8.5 feet according to giger`s book ( very cool by the way) and I really think that a larger alien ( not too large) is a way better alien.

@ Hell Alien, whats wrong with your computer not enough juice or you dont have a scanner or somrthin? and Ya man the Large size of the alien makes it more menasing looking way more intimidating to.But ya thanks for the compliment and would like to see your stuuf to if you could send it in.I have some other ones on here to if you look around in the Predator section of the fan art that you might like.Anyways rock on and go read in the Fangoria comment section of what that one guy says about what the pictures look like and what not if you havent already, it sounds pretty good to me and makes me want to see this even more if thats possible.,Sorry budddy for not remembering your name that sent that great info in.   ;)  

Wow, I just checked the fanart section.  That Predalien is really darn good!  I like its build a lot, but I think maybe the stripes could be changed to a more pred-like speckled design or something.  Other than that one small thing, the picture is really nicely done.  Good job!     ;D  

By the way Bringer, The guy name is ryanpoli. I told him to go write a damn avp novel. for those of you who dont understand, just go read that ryanpoli`s report. And Bringer, my computer`s problem is that it needs a lil boost and a scanner but those things would cost me like 550 $ dont have that to spend on my comp. for now.

Thanks Galmorzu, ya I was actualy contemplating on whether to give him those 'spackles ' but I didnt realy think it would take those characteristics from the Pred but I did give it those spine like whiskers , just on the shoulders.@ Hell Alien, ya man that sucks about how expansive it is to upgrade your computer, thats why I don't play alot of newer games on PC except for mabey like RED ALERT 2 or AVP gold.My comp. is an older modle and dosnt take any of the newer video cards and all that crap so I kinda know how you feel. Yeah, I liked those shoulder spines, those were a nice touch.  It really made it look a lot more dangerous and menacing.  Something about being covered in sharp quills, I dunno.     ;D

Yes, i know that the chestburtsters develops inside its host and take over iets charactistics, but the 'normal alien' doesn't look very human too me. And the 'Dog alien' came from a dog but dogs have haires. And the dog alien doesn't have haires, and big ears. the dog alien looks very same like the alien came from a human. So why does the predalien suddenly looks like a pred with haires and stuf and the jaws?

hmm.. Quess i'l see it in the movie.

My theory is: All 4 legged hosts chestburtsters are gonna be Dog Aliens and all 2 legged 'like humans and preds" chestbursters are giong to be warrior aliens   :)

Hey A. Emperor, dont like that theory of yours. I dont think that a 4 legged host will automaticaly be a dog alien. Cuz the aliens are suppos to take SOME characteristics of the host.  Like if a facehugger impregnate an elephant, dont think that will result as a dog alien. Well dont think so.

wanna hear how i would end the movie? i think that lexx and the predator will escape on a predator ship, soon after escaping the pyrimid in antartica, maybe after another pred. has blew up it's self destruct mechanism. after they're on the ship the predalien shows itself on the ship (alien intelligence??) and has one final hand to hand with the final predator and after beating the pred turns on lexx and the pred ( who we all thought was dead kills the predalien. now this is how i would end the movie. anyone else wanna put in their two cents???

@Punisher:  Your ending does seem very creative, however, i think that ending would resemble the ending of the very first aliens versus predator comic where the human hero Machico escapes wit the preds and becomes one. I'm pretty sure Paul Anderson is trying to avoid clecheas. But, ya neva know, you may have just hit the ending right on the head!    :)     :)

How do U explian the aliens inside the temple. Those aliens where there before those humans came. And those aliens ar all warrior aliens (human host aliens) And i don't think there was a japanees tourist group, shooting pictures in the middle of Antartica lost the way and end up in that temple. Hey A Emperor, As for that elephant in space, THAT was just an exemple. dummy.  AS for the aspect of it, just imagine a 3 meters high alien with 2 BIG tusks and a 8 feets inner jaw instead  of BIG NOSE. A long and large tail, a damn resistant  armor and as for the ears, they would becomes large shoulder plates.

As for those ppl in the temple, well you dont seem to know alot about the movie buddy cuz those ppl are very very old ppl like the Mayans and Inca. they`v been brought there by the preds so that aliens could developped and become targets for the unblooding ceremony.

If any of you guys have played alien vs predator extinction, you would know that there are 3 different types of alien queens. #1 type of queen-Large Bulky(made a debut in aliens) #2 type of queen-Extreamly bulky, mostly muscle, and is a hybrid of Predator and alien.(made a debut in alien extinction) #3 type of queen(aka alien empress)- BIG ASS MOFO, never seen, only in one book is it mentioned that this is the mother of all aliens, those pics up there i think are pics are the real deal, a real alien empress

But we can clearly see that in the featurettes, the bodies of the ppl who got  chestburst in the ceremonial chamber lookd pretty old. They were looking almost momyfied. I`m not saying that they are 3000 years old. I`m just saying that the preds took those fella a long time ago so that the aliens could develop there for the ceremony. As for the weak story, maybe that we are going to be surprised of it. Maybe better than you think.  And for that predalien thing, we dont know for sure if there is going to be one. I hope there will but Im not PA. And the only way a predalien could see the light, according to the movies, is with a facehugger.  But anyway the movie will answer our questions.  And Dogz, the empress queen your talking can be seen in one comic that I know. Good day to you all, I am {XoG}ArchAngel{K}   8)  . I have seen these sketches and I would have to say that I am VERY impressed. I really like the sketches of the Queen chained up to the pillars. It makes her look even more menacing than she already is. It makes you think "Man, if that queen looks THIS horrific chained up, then imagine what she is like when she is free!" Sends chills down my spine! I think that this scene should be introduced the same way the queen was introduced in ALIENS. You know, with the lights behind her and the music. It all made that 1 scene really cool. The there is the predalien chestburster sketch. It looks cool for a chestburster, but hopefully it will have changed a bit when it's full grown. Hopefully, the full grown predalien will look like the 1 in "Alien Vs. Predator 2: Primal Hunt" (That's the PC video game incase you didn't know). Speaking of "Alien Vs. Predator 2: Primal Hunt", do any of you play it? It's a really cool game. I'm in a clan in that game. I'm 1 of the best alien players there is. People have even started disabling aliens in their servers because they know i might come to play. I am in the clan "XoG", it stands for "Xenomorphs of God". I made up the name. Well its late and I`m a bit tired but reading the thing ( wich is really interesting and thaks for the link buddy)  Didnt actually told me that a face hugger on a pred wont create a predalien. Its all well wrote and all but I still think that a thing got by a facehugger will results as the thing altered clone. In wich you will still have some of the thing aspect as well of a overall alien look.But I`ll try to read this when I`m a bit more atentive. But If I missed something that would prooves your point, just tell me where it is in the text.

Ok, click on the left 'DNA' then read THE HOST AND EMBRYO and THE INVASION. But they don't have a real clear answer too about the Xenomrph and adapts to it's host DNA.

Indeed, its not real clear. But they are trying to proove it with science and logical facts but since the alien is as well has been well known is also alot more unknown. We cannot really tell how it is working for the alien. So I`ll keep reading the hole thing till I find something but I dont really think I will since its not that clear indeed

Actually, the 5 preds is more like 3, and there on a pyramid in the BEGINING fighting off way more aliens than they can handle. They start to lose and self destruct taking the entire mayan civilization with them. Then in flashes to the present and thats how it starts    :)

Hey, jus seen the trailer n it looks pretty damn cool!  Ive played both games, seen all the films til now and owned a few of the books.  Many people think that AVP would completely spoil things because of the different storylines, but it doesn't really.  I mean, in Pred 2, there was an alien queen's head so they must hav met before.  Does anyone know if the weird elephant-like aliens are gonna b in this one?(apparently this race created the aliens as a bioweapon during a civil war, but they evolved and got out of control)

Hey, I know it's off the point a little, but who reckons that the games really spoilt the films?  The games were action more than horror.  I'm quite surprised nobody's thought of bringing out a 'survival horror' game instead (which would get people into the right frame of mind when facing the aliens.  Instead of 'come get some!', it would be 'holy ****, w-what was that??    :-\  ')    ;D
