Randy's getting people hyped for Borderlands 3.  I wonder how many people will continue to boycott his wares if it's awesome.
Borderlands 3 is an easy pass for me and not just because Gearbox is making it. I'm not a real big fan of "random loot" games, and especially not "loot shooters" like Borderlands, The Division, Destiny, etc.

Sooner or later, Gearbox will make something that you'll be unable to resist.

*whispers to Huggs* Kitten simulator. Try to resist that game.

If they made another Alien game (somehow), I'd buy and play it because if I don't, the surgically-implanted bomb at the base of my skull would go off.

It's the same bomb that beeps any time a new piece of Alien media is released, among other unrelated fandoms.

How soon before you run out of room on the video game shelf?

The Cruentus

Maybe he already has and is now using someone else's.

Local Trouble

Nah, he needs more consoles.  There are still gaps in his collection.

I'm already basically out of room. I've been paring down the video game shelf and removing stuff I don't care about anymore, or games I can replace with digital copies.

With rare exceptions (Atari Jaguar), I try to get consoles if there's more than one or two games for it that I care about. I've contemplated a PC Engine/Turbographix 16 but I can't think of enough games I'd want for it, and I'd get a 3DO for the Doom port (it's the one official Doom port I'm missing) but the 3DO is expensive enough as it is, and getting it for one game feels like a waste.

I mean I could go bonkers and get a lot of old stuff like a Fairchild Channel F, Magnavox Odyssey II, Vectrex, etc, but I don't buy consoles just to say I have them.

Local Trouble

If you want a rare find, get a SuperGrafx and all five games for it.  At least it's fully backward compatible with the PC Engine.

So I came across this today.

"Gearbox Software's former lawyer is suing the developer and CEO over a supposed secret $12 million bonus given to Randy Pitchford. Gearbox Software has been at the center of quite a few legal disputes over the last decade, whether it be from falsely advertising Aliens: Colonial Marines or fighting for control of the Duke Nukem IP from 3D Realms. That being said, a brand new lawsuit that was recently ousted by Kotaku and it involves Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford being sued for taking a supposed $12 million secret bonus."
